GOG is including a lot of other downloads with their game releases, some of it more precious but some of it, not so much. I value handbooks and soundtracks but I think GOG needs to really add high quality package scans of their game releases to the d/l features. More precisely a decent scan of the front and back sides of the game's package. That would add quite a lot more value to the 'digital game property' for me! Anyone agree?

Also, most of the time handbooks come without their cover page which I think is a bummer.
It'd be neat, but many games get released in multiple packages (different editions, different geographic regions, re-releases, etc), so there's not always one definitive package. I'd rather they simply resolve to include as much conceptual art, promotional art, etc for a game as possible as extras. :-)

All the box art you'll ever need
high rated
Note that GOG has high-res front cover scans uploaded already, they just don't have them implemented in any readily accessible way. You can get to them by adjusting the boxart URL to remove the "_bb_20" part, e.g. this:

becomes this:

Some covers don't seem to have a full size version but it works for most games. It also doesn't have the gloss and so forth added to make the store page look fancier. :)

That's true for older games, but from newer additions they didn't bother for some time.
Pity, making covers was much easier with these :P
I don't see a single reason for this. Boxes are for old chaps like me who still buy physical goods, games on floppies and DVD. Digital delivery is about bits, right? So enjoy your boxless games with no scans whatsoever :-P
Mobygames is only good if everything fails. Their scans are of inferior quality and all have that nasty mobygames logo smacked on them. Not nice!

Plus, that's only the front side. I like to have a look at the backside of a box from time to time too because they're often even more interesting than the front cover.
