Has anyone played it yet? It was released on PSN Wednesday and the PS3, PS4, Xbox360, and PC yesterday. I was going to pre-order it for $25 on GreenmanGaming, but I thought to wait for the eventual $5 sale and play it safe by waiting for a few reviews.
It really reminds me of Mars: War Logs since they share mechanics, so I expect to enjoy it greatly.

Yes, this is advertisement for the game. Beyond that, I am interested in hearing what y'all think about it.
Would you play it? Does it remind you of anything? I've heard it compared to Dark Souls (awareness of surroundings) and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

Many video reviews are completely negative, but I've managed to find some positive ones.

based on this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNzqAQzTFjc

i would wait for steep discount. proven good games at the full price.
Oh, forgot about this again! (There was already a thread about this, btw :P)

Looks quite okay. Will probably get it at some point, but like iippo said, probably when it's on a promo or something. The Mars game by the same developers got me a bit interested too, but that one should be even more...average.
I played this for a bit, but haven't formed an opinion yet. My first impression is that I kind of expected better production values for that amount of money. But it might still be good, can't tell before I play more. But I'm not sure if I like the combat system well enough to play on soon. It's a but fiddly, or perhaps I just I need to get used to it.

It looks like good $5 sale fodder.
What I've seen looks pretty bad, which is sad because back in the day the trailers looked alright.
Perhaps they can fix some things via patches and turn it into an alright game.

Mars: War Logs may have had a very rough start, but the patches and English dialogue overhaul make it a great experience for anyone who enjoys meaningful quests, a believable world, and realistic characters. I clocked in 31 hours before being completely finished with my first playthrough. My only recommendation for anyone considering playing it is to watch a gameplay video showing the combat because it's likely to turn certain people away immediately. Try to play it like a hack & slash and you will die endlessly.

I decided to compile a complete list of errors found while playing Mars: War Logs and posted them in a thread titled "Errors Log [spoilers (very slight)]"
Here's an excerpt of what I said at the very end of the post:
Mary's personality overall is hilarious. She says the darnest, most straight forward things without a second thought. Is she based on someone one of the developers is familiar with?

The level design is so well thought out that the entire world feels expansive. Every location feels like what it is.
The mole caves feel like enclosed spaces with only one exit.
The cities feel like towns full of life and people going about their lives.
The structures above the player and even the paths we aren't allowed to take, even though they are right in front of us, all make the world feel existent.

An hour into the game, the level design reminded me of Phantom Dust. Fourteen hours later, it still does. Is this intentional?
Mind you, that game has some of the best level design I have ever seen.

Devotion is slightly weaker than she should be and she blocks a lot more than she attacks. Perhaps she should have a better weapon or increased damage with her being an assassin since she was like fifteen and all.
Reference: I expected more from her. I expect more from my love interests!

After POW Camp, I never felt the need to extract Serum. I beat the game with over eight hundred.

This is a great game with a bunch of tiny errors throughout. Fix those, and you're golden.

^ Would be cool if it came to GOG...

All right, color me interested. Well I was interested from the getgo, but the terrible reviews were really discouraging.

Exactly. After playing and loving the heck out of Mass Effect I'm always on the lookout for good Sci-Fi (A)RPGs, but after reading the reviews I thought: "Yeah, well, maybe later".
Mars: War Logs is a good game imo. It's not really Sci-Fi though, unless you count stuff like Fallout and Mad Max as Sci-Fi. But I think most of the bad reviews were due to people expecting something different (same as for Alpha Protocol).

I also didn't get why so many people compared it to Mass Effect. Apart from the dialogue system and the fact it plays in over-the-shoulder view, it doesn't have much in common with that game.
If anything, I'd say Mars: War Logs is closest to The Witcher 2 in a post apocalyptic setting.

As for Bound by Flame, I'll wait for a sale before buying the game. Judging from the reviews and their previous games, the devs will probably need some time to fix bugs and add a bit of polish anyway.

The only thing that makes Mars: War Logs sci-fi is the fact that it takes place on Mars. Trust me when I say that the game world is utterly believable.
All this War Logs talk has got me considering a second playthrough.
look for Totalbiscuits WTF on YouTube....pretty much says it all ( nice customization options, skill tree, graphics, crafting is ok,parry mechanic doesn't really work for player char, average story, companions AI not good, 8 to 12 hours worth play through).Seems to be mainly a melee based game with magic abilities.no real option to be ranged char ...there is a crossbow but meant to be a support weapon only.
^ The link is in the 2nd post. Yeah, watched that yesterday. Will wait for a discount, probably.

Niggles: snip
Watched the WTF, the game seems pretty bland. Nothing really got me interested.
