Not sure if this is the place to request new games on GOG but...
I used to own Black Dahlia by Take 2 and Interplay, as a matter of fact I still have the discs however since I made the plunge to windows 7 64-bit it just will not play.
Don't suppose there's any hope of persuading the publishers that this would be a good one for GOG to have and maybe bring it up to date so I can play it?
It's from one of my favorite genre's, the Live video adventure. Which is sadly not a style of game that has survived...
Thanks in advance if there's any chance.
vote for it on the wanted list:

I too would love to see it here, but Take2 is not (currently) on gog. Of the upcoming publishers I think it is likely we might see them though and if we give it enough votes it would be a strong contender to be on gog if they do arrive.
Black Dahlia would be an awesome adtion to the catalogue. It's one of the games i've been waiting to land on gog since i got here.
I believe the game is playable on DOSBox, is it not?

I'm under the impression they gave up on the dos version at the last minute and it's windows only, but i'm not sure.
This was a great game and should indeed be on GOG. I still own the original boxed release of the game (8 CD-ROMS! It's HUGE!).

Sorry if this ends up a double post had a case of brain dump.

Thanks for letting me know about the vote site hadn't seen that one. Also it's a shame if GOG staff don't go there... but I put my X next to BD anyway :-)

I have the 8 CD boxed version of this as well. As far as I can tell it's windows only *95. When I attempt to play; it just hangs or gives me a Direct X is crap error. This one had me hooked for weeks on release due to great atmosphere and the Actors. Really hope this does end up on GOG.

You can probably play that game if you use a virtual machine with a Win95/98 setup. Just make sure to have plenty of processor power and RAM and you should be good to go. Heck, I think even Microsoft has some sort of Windows virtual environment nowadays that allows you to do the same.

There's an updated installer that makes Black Dahlia run on 64bit systems with the ability to do a full hard drive install to avoid disk swapping. It also fixes other compatibility issues and updates the video files to play without scanlines for increased quality along with other fixes.

Here is the new Black Dahlia installer
Here is a scan report from Virus Total, it's clean
Never got around to playing though looking at it was one I want to get my hands on.

Isnt the role by dennis hopper really well played from what ive heard about it?

You can check it out for yourself if you don't mind the spoilers.

I think both he and Teri Garr did ok, nothing spectacular but definitely good enough.

I just finished this game. It does take some work to get it running in Windows XP, but if you Google enough and apply enough patches it does eventually work. The game takes up about 4 Gigs of harddrive space!

I personally thought the puzzles were way too hard and just detracted from what was otherwise a SPECTACULAR story (thank goodness for cheat codes on Google or I'd NEVER have finished this game!). And I thought the acting by the main character was excellent, especially for a video game actor. Hopper and Garr were good but nothing to write home about and each had tiny parts.

I have the game running okay on win 7 64 after installing the hard drive installer & setting the patched video's to 640x480 & 256 colours. I also installed the original patch from 98 . This compatabilty mode corrected the video files from being pixel blocks all over the screen.
