As some of you may know, an indie company by the name of Platoon Studios, Inc, is making a spiritual successor to the RTS games Battlezone and Battlezone II: Combat Commander called BIONITE: Origins. To be frank, the game looks awesome, and they are presently have sign-ups for open beta available via Facebook.
However, about a month ago, the game's former marketing director contacted EVERYONE who expressed interest in the game (including me) and told them of his departure, linking them to an interview he held with Indie Game HQ to explain his departure. Personally, I thought the move was an excellent way to damn the BIONITE: Origin and, by association, its team.
Shortly after this, a Platoon Studios, Inc. employee going by LtFeed responded regarding this (see third comment of this article), assuring everyone that the marketing director had nothing to do with the project (if I'm gleaning this correctly, BIONITE: Origin's dev team is separate from its marketing team). Afterwards, his denial of the marketing director's accusations seemed to became far more vindictive; anyone who claimed to know anything about the matter either didn't know what they were talking about or wasn't on the dev team in the first place. (See the comments section of http://www.moddb.com/games/bionite-origins) Eventually, Platoon Studios, Inc released an interview with Indie Game HQ and the game's project manager.
Honestly, the whole debacle has made me very weary of playing the finished game because of all this - especially due to the later comments by LtFeed.
