We're giving away 100 games a day to our users to celebrate our 5th birthday!

For the last 5 years we've been doing our best to bring the best games in history to your home computers. Now, we're celebrating our birthday, and we want you--our users--to have a blast! That's why for the next five days we'll be giving away 100 games a day via our different channels (the forums, social media, YouTube). The details of each giveaway will be revealed on day to day basis, so make sure to drop by daily and see what are we up to.

Today, we've planned something special for our followers. All you have to do is to follow our profile and tweet: <span class="bold">"Over 600 DRM-free games in 5 years [url=http://j.mp/GOGCatalog]http://j.mp/GOGCatalog. Happy Birthday, @GOGcom! #GOG5Bday". That's it--you've entered the draw. Out of all the people who do this, we'll pick 100 users who will be sent a $9.99 gift-code. You have time until tomorrow, that's Wednesday, October 2, at 2:59PM GMT to enter the giveaway, as at that time we'll be moving to another communications channel with a new set of rules.

EDIT:
Have you participated in one of our 5th birthday contests, but are still waiting for its conclusion? We're a bit overwhelmed by the number of entries, as this is the ongoing biggest series of giveaways in the whole of GOG.com history. Please be patient, well sort it all out, eventually, and everyone who was lucky enough to win something will be notified. Sorry for the delay!
posted on tweeter... who will check all of them?
Well, looking at Twitter, there seem to be more entries than people on here realize! :-)

Over 200 retweets and I have no idea (haven't counted the huge list) how many posts listed under the hashtag.

Quick check gives 396 tweets with that hashtag, ignoring those previous to 4 hours. Not sure if that counts the retweets as well.

teshra: Why do people sometimes complain for no reason? Is it just for the sake of complaining?
Yes I'm complaining about the complainers so I'm part of the problem in this instance and not the solution.

Ok, so what if todays contest is to try to get the word out on twitter about GOG? Not every contest from every company is going to be tailored specifically for you. If that were the case, the person running the contest would be your mom and it would be for your 5th birthday party.
These threats of I'm done with GOG for trying to force me to use twitter are so lame. So todays contest doesn't appeal to you. Maybe tomorrows will, maybe it wont. They've ran a bunch of different contests since they began celebrating their birthday and in each one were the lamest of the complaints about the time it began, the time it didn't begin, not having enough English language knowledge to re-arrange words to form the name of a game, too many newbies showing up, too many vets with 5 year accounts, too many newbies who are vets. And now we have how dare you try to make me use twitter??? FU GOG!!!! Wait till Facebook shows up. Oooh boy!

Can we just try to maybe understand that GOG is trying to advertise themselves thru various channels and be ok with that?
You do realize I was just having fun right? And no where in that did I say that I was done with gog. I love gog. In fact as of this moment I'm downloading the twatter app...opps I meant twitter app:-) For someone who don't like complainers you sure do like to complain #Be Happy:-)

I think I missed that post. In fact, there is only one person in this thread who I would say is actually upset, squidick in the post right before yours.

Ah, so quite a lot, but fewer than I realized -- unless the number suddenly balloons overnight!
I don't really want to spam my friends =s

Indeed but nothing quite like yesterday's forum day contest where by this point there were thousands of entries.

If some of them don't know about GOG.com, but are interested in games, they might end up thanking you.

If that does not convince you, there will be other contests.

EDIT:
Contest due date corrected: it's Wednesday, October 2.

Hey, sorry if I offended you. It was meant to be a joke about twitter but I guess some didn't get it. I wasn't complaining about the about contests but about how hard they were. Still, it was my fault for saying it like that even though that isn't how I intended it to be, so I apologize. Thanks for calling a Squidick though:-)

Edit: Opps...after posting this I saw there was a actual user with the name Squidick...boy am I redfaced ;-)

G-Doc: ...
I'm not in as I don't own Twitter (what would I tweet about, anyway? :D, but go ahead, the rest of you! you never know, maybe your girlfriend's father's second cousin is a huge game fan and didn't know about GOG! :D

EDIT: corrected, thanks again G-Doc! :)

Actually, hadn't even read your post when I was writing mine so my comments were in no way directed towards anything you said in your post directly above mine.
My comments were more or less regarding posts I read earlier today in the twitter thread and thru the past week or two of the contests that GOG has put out for their birthday. So no offense taken and your post is clear as it had nothing to do with what I said at that time.
Good luck to all the twitter accounts owners.
I don´t have one and I won´t be creating one just for this.

Curious what I will see next.
I get an internal server error when I try to tweet : "Over 600 DRM-free games in 5 years http://j.mp/GOGCatalog. Happy Birthday, @GOGcom! #GOG5Bday"
i'd rather just buy the game I wanted...
