Probably the opening bit of Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 2. It was basically the bit when I went: "Well shit, if anybody tells me games can't match movies, I'm showing him this."

groze: I'd have to say Broken Sword and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
Yeah, I immediately thought of the original Broken Sword too - I DO like the parts added for the HD release but the intro to the original was very special - apparently the artist that created it died soon afterwards, which is incredibly sad, which is why they decided to leave it and do something else for the remake - its a great shame though

Apart from that the 80's Miami Vice style opening credits to GTA: VC are very good and the 'Earth forming' intro to the original Civilization from the Amiga will always stick in my mind
If I had to pick my all time favorite it would be Fallout 2. I never played Fallout before and basically had no idea what a Fallout game was before I installed the game. The opening, with the "War, War never changes line" really struck me. That the game was a blending of the "real world" and science fiction made me almost believe that this really could happen someday.

Now, watching it again makes me want to jump back into the world of Fallout and experience it again.

Zero Wing ofcourse!
For me it was the original Space Hulk pc game. For today's standards it cheezy but back in the day.. it was great..

I don't know what exactly the limit is, but gain a little rep and it should work. A measure to keep out spam bots for link farms.

A neverending inferno of popculture references in post-apocalyptic world?
Even the damn apocalypse couldn't stop that junk.
Spooky.

First 3D jrpg ever released.
Never played Wild Arms, but I've always loved that intro.

I'll keep the PSX-era anime intro train going with the port of Tales of Phantasia.
Digital Devil Saga

Metal Gear 3

Kingdom Hearts

Also the FF8 and Silent Hill 2 opening
"Time will tell... Sooner or later... Time will tell..."
Fallout 1 for me

I like the opening of Breath of Fire IV. Sadly the music quality isn't really good in this youtube video.

Wishlist entry
I guess I'm the only one that appreciated the opening to Civ V (wish I appreciated the game itself as much, but so far it just hasn't captured me the way all the other Civs did).

It wasn't overly dramatic or anything, but it blew me away because it was the most lifelike computer graphics I'd seen in any video game at the time. Breathtaking, especially the very end. Beautiful.

Sorry, no link, but since it got no mention no one's interested anyway. -p

EDIT: Link

Ahhh, for me it has to be Metal Gear Solid. Whole intro with briefing, and that Gaeilc opera, man, it made quite an impresion on me when i was a kid. To this day MGS remains my favorite game.
