Who here has had a bad experience with GOG? No one? That's what I thought.

I had an issue with a sale the other day, and withing a day I got a response from a real person. YES! A real person. I find that rare nowadays.

I want you guys to share your experiences with GOG. Even the bad ones.
I'll get back to you on this.

I'm think I remember reading a few bad experiences, but on the other hand other people seem to get a good response :)

While i am glad that you had such a positive experience, you'll find that most people find the support not one of the strongest points of gog.

Maybe they're finally getting better at it?

People don't usually complain on support with accounts/sales/money etc. - related problems but on technical support for game-related problems.

There's a few trolls who have made their home under the forum but surprisingly little compared to other sites. As for games I have had no problems installing or playing which is miraculous for some of the old titles I like. There are still some problems with compatibility for some games or with payments but they seem to have good support and both the admins and community respond quickly to problems. We shouldn't rest on our laurels though, Windows 8 will be released some day and I'll bet you dollars to do-nuts we'll have our work cut out for us then.

Yeah the only issues I've ever seen people encounter have been compatibility things, usually for Win95/98 era games. Personally I've yet to have an unsolvable problem, except for the sound issue on TIM3... which I'm not really upset about.
Ok, I want all issues, not just support. I'm just posting this to have a laugh at a good story. None so far :/

Someone posted a thread about not having good support on GOG and they made a rant thread about it that drove the board nuts for a bit. I think the member was having issues with lag in dosbox or some such.

Well, ALL CAPS IN THE POST TITLE usually isn't a sign of a sound complaint. GOG is very fast when it comes to all sale related problems (or financial related problems). Technical difficulties are often left fot the community. Rightfully so, imo. Most of us* are very helpful and with PCs it's impossible for GOG to have all configurations covered.

* Not me, I only make snide comments :-)

lol
My brother once wrote a letter to support asking them to add a certain game to the catalogue... And actually received response.
