I know Kotaku has a pretty poor reputation within the gaming community, but this interview with Chris Crawford is pretty interesting and definitely worth a read. Does anyone know if there are any other articles like this that might be interesting to read about "the Gaming Industry" and game developers?

He sounds more than a little disgruntled.
That guy is a little bit crazy, in the bad way. You can't make progress in an industry by leaving it and having nothing but negative things to say about it. He's a lonely crackpot who can't get over past disappointments or work with other people.

Thanks for this interesting article, +1. That shifting of beads, to remind himself to seize the day — made me think about how I approach the passing of time myself and things I want to accomplish still.

The actual video so that you can go straight to the source as it were :)

Hey, which are good gaming sites?
I mean with trusted reviews, good news and nice non-messy layout.
I only use some Youtube user channels \ GOG \ Mobygames at the moment..
(well, Kotaku sometimes for some random fun article)

None of them are perfect but I quite like Eurogamer. Nice and simple layout, generally decent reporting without as much sensationalist click-baiting as a site like Kotaku has. Not nearly as much political agenda pushing as a site like Kotaku or Rockpapershotgun.

Reviews I can't really say, that's a matter of finding specific writers you like and agree with. Has nothing to do with sites really. I like Richard Cobbett, Brad Shoemaker and TotalBiscuit, myself.

Ah I follow TB too, but together with Dodger and Jesse on the Polaris Cooptional Podcast.
They're quite funny! (and I like the new animations) XD
I don't know the other 2 instead.
I'll check Eurogamer, thanks.

EDIT: I follow the Yogscast too, for many entertaining Let's plays, series and previews.

:D
This article about LucasArts is interesting as well, it's rather depressing about what the industry have become.

But i gotta say, that beads ritual sound like complete badassery, ahahah!

If you use the Destructoid: Toilet Edition, that's not too bad of a site. The regular site is pretty much plagued with ads, but if you search Destructoid: Toilet Edition on google, you should be able to access the much less-frills version of the site that I usually check time to time. Eurogamer's another pretty good one others have mentioned. The Escapist Magazine usually has some good stuff on games too.

There's also Game Informer - it has a pretty simple layout and has some pretty good reviews, but since it's owned by the same people who own Gamestop/EB Games, it's not necessarily the most trustworthy in that regard.

Rich Cobbett is definitely my favorite writer but TotalBiscuit ... dear lord, I can't stand the guy. I can only stand to watch about a quarter of his vids because he waffles on and on and on and on and on and on about the same damn thing for half his vids! WE GET IT, NO NEED TO REPEAT YOURSELF A GAZILLION TIMES. Not only that, he's a shit player, often blames a game for his own stupidity, etc. I remember a little while ago, he was going on about how unfair the game was when he played so terribly it was painful to watch. "Oh no, I'm getting shot from the back, I'm 100% sure that guy just appeared out of thin air". No he didn't, he ran by you and you were just being a shit player and didn't see it.

But yeah, rant over - I wish there were some proper reviewers on Youtube. And don't get me started on Angry Joe ...

I don't like his personality much either. He even blocked me on twitter for politely correcting him on something. He seems like a total ass. However I find his videos extremely valuable as far as detailing how good a PC port is and how a game plays. He's much more technical and informative than most sites' gameplay videos.
