i need to read the HOMM manual but i am sick and tired of how ungodly slow and resource-hogging stupid adobe reader is. anyone know a free, lite, minimalist pdf reader so i don 't have to use firefox to read this thing?

Try Foxit reader, it's pretty popular.

I use Sumatra PDF. It is very minimalistic and light weight, and it has no browser plugin (a big plus in my book).
PDF-XCHANGE VIEWER is also pretty good.
