The UK's major internet service providers have been asked to block three more file-sharing websites, the BBC can reveal.

The British Phonographic Industry (BPI), which acts on behalf of rights holders, wants ISPs to prevent access to Fenopy, H33t and Kickass Torrents.

The BPI alleges that the sites are illegally distributing music.

The ISPs told the BBC they would comply with the new demand, but only if a court order is put in place.

It follows a separate court order in April which saw popular file-sharing site The Pirate Bay blocked in the UK.

Do VPNs/Proxies help get around this?

Erm. Yeah, me, too. I was wondering who would voluntarily listen to cheesy porn music.

Now I'm sad, because the story is much less amusing than I originally thought. Just some music people being tools, again.
That definitely sucks. It's sounding like a VPN subscription might be a good investment for those living in the UK.

Heh, I always end up misreading that, regardless of how many times I've seen it. Must just be where my mind wants to go.
I misread it the same way the first time and had to do a double-take.

It's a product of the demise of the phonograph compared to the prevalence of teh pr0nz.

Same here. It was not until I noticed your post that I actually managed to read it the right way
I read that as British Pornographic Industry...

I did! :D

While I was reading, I was wondering: "Why the British Pornography Industry wants to block... oh wait... read again..." :P

Indeed.

It's funny though. It might just as well have been the British Pornographic Industry. I mean, when it comes to piracy I'm not sure which industries are hit the worst, but porn certainly has to be in the top 4, along with music, movies and games, right? And yet you rarely hear about top porn industry execs raging against piracy.
