Navagon: It looks like Rebellion have not just done a bang up job in picking up the AVP licence again, but actually far batter captured the essence of movies' characters. Especially the Predator. Hopefully this will represent a return to form for Rebellion as a developer.

Delixe: Wait when did they lose their form? Ok they made some licence tie in shite to pay the bills but then who doesn't? Judge Dredd was poor granted but only because they could have done so much better with the character. Rogue Trooper was almost a perfect game.

I was thinking in particular of Shellshock 2, but there have been other lacklustre ones before it. Generally, since the last AVP I've seen nothing particularly great from them.

PoSSeSSeDCoW: Hunter = Predator, for obvious reasons
Survivor = Aliens, as they survive every attempt to wipe them out
Prey = Humans, as they just get killed

I think it's more down to your playing style than which species you choose. Otherwise any two of those terms could apply to two species.

Then you haven't had the pleasure of playing Rogue Trooper my friend.

This is true. Or Rogue Warrior, for that matter. Which is one of theirs due out next month. Nothing to do with everyone's favourite blue soldier with talking equipment though.

Normally I would suggest buying Rogue Trooper as it's stupidly cheap on Steam, however with Rebellion now with GOG and RT being 2006 (Darkstar One age) I am hoping it will turn up on GOG soon. Considering that Rebellion now own 2000AD the thought of the extras GOG could include with the game has me ready with the credit card even though I own the retail copy. It's like Gears of War but better.
Nothing to see here. Move along.

Given that Rebellion own the full rights to the title and everything to do with it, the game should make for an easy GOG. But GOG seem to want to create a backlog of possible titles from signed publishers for future use. So I don't know when we can expect that one.

anjohl: WOW! My continual temptation to track down a Jaguar just died for good! I am DEFINITELY getting that.
Hunter is obviously the Predetor, Survivor is the Alien, and....
Hmm. I am having the same problem. The Alien could be considared the hunter, which would make the Pred. the survivor....yeah, you know what? Bad tagline.

Miaghstir: I'd say humanity is the survivor and Alien the prey. Just about all catastrophy/great threat stories come down to "humanity will always manage to survive in some way, no matter the odds".

I'd rather say that each race has the three aspects. Each one can be a hunter, a survivor or a prey, depending of the point of view, and on which enemy you have in front of you.

Danny Glover was hunting that Predator thats for sure. He also ripped it a new one and said "who's next?"
