Hello there,
I want to know if english is to only language in the game, and are you intend to establish other language in your games like french.
I really want to buy some of these old games but english is not so easy ^^

Adding language-packs would be awesome. Generally, I have no problem understanding english (I am German), but in games like Fallout, it's just easier to read one's native language.
Oh, I didn't see this topic before sending my questions to the HQ.
I'm curious if it would be possible to let the community translate some of the games, if they are not yet translated. It's a lot of work, but with a good resource manager or a dedicated editor... Then of course we have the problems with diacritics and stuff, but still - I would love this option :)

Another german. :)
I also would like to have multi-language support. English is ok aswell, but it can never hurt to have the possibility to change the language.
There is already a field in the game description for the available language. It's surely mean that they intend to distribute some translated game. Let's hope it wont take too long.
The problem with translations is they always input the interpretation of the translator on the text. You never get the original stuff, the way the author wanted you to experience it... not saying it isn't a good thing heh I'm just glad I can play all of these jewels in their original versions :P
Even though the games that GOG sells are only in english, if there's a translation available for a given game I suppose you can use it in the GOG versions.
Some games, a mere translation won't work. You need localization as well..
From the massive amount of topics about it, I'm sure eventually GOG will add other languages. For most games, it's just a matter of time, but for other games I'm pretty sure the language is hard-coded into it.
I just sent an e-mail to the team concerning that issue, I didn't see that topic. I'm french too, and although english language isn't a real problem for me, I would like to play RPGs in my own language, to be more in the mood...

The question is : when other languages will be available, will we be forced to re-purchase the same game bought in VO ? :) (I think not but... just in case... ^^)
(et à part l'intro, la VF de Freespace 1 est très correcte :D )
The Current Terms Of Service for the Forum, as well as the EULA forbid translating these games to another language, so I doubt it will happen. Although, many games do have language patches (like fallout, and etc). It doesn't make much sense to me that a world wide content distributor would limit their resources to English only, but as it is the most commonly spoken language across the world now, I suppose it's acceptable.. but just barely.
But yeah, I don't think we'll get translations of these games, as it would usually take an entire staff maybe months to translate and localize a game, if the original developer had not already done so.
