Aveweto: about that authorized accounts ive got someone on that list aswell not checked but still its there but its the account of my girlfriend who once logged in through my steam to activate a game key so maybe someone had access to your machine and started steam from there?

OldFatGuy: Yeah, my two nephews both have played Steam games a lot on my computers here, but neither of their accounts is named Chelsea Grin or whatever that name was that was showing up.
well from what i see it only displays the account name you can change on the profile settings page not the account name used to login unless both are the same
family sharing is pretty cool , especially if you don't really play your games a lot , you can share the account with a family member remote or local and let them play , when you want to play it gives you back access asap.

only one thing matters here absolutely that is trusting the person your are sharing with to not mess up anything such as cheat in multiplayer games etc

Remember even if someone is sharing your account , priority is always you , once you start a game the sharing person loses access within minutes

Tallima: The Family Sharing is as you want to be with one caveat: if you play any games from your account, it will boot the other person.
Not in case you (or the other person) are in offline mode it won't :-P

I wonder though, do you think it "records" time and usage, and if when it reconnects, and discovers you've violated the terms, whether you will face any sort of sanction?

In other words, let's say you're offline, play a game on 4/22/2014 from 2:30 to 4:30 PM EDT. Then when it reconnects, it checks Steam records and discovers that another computer was also playing that game, online, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM EDT on the same day. Then you get a nasty little notice from Steam saying you've violated their terms of service and lose access to your account.

Again, not saying that would happen, just wondering if it's possible. Well, I'm sure it's technically possible, I mean wondering if Steam tracks things that closely.

OldFatGuy: ...
I don't think so. I have actually used offline mode to share my Steam account with my family even before family sharing was a thing.
