I think that the bartender guy (Desmond if my memory is right -- been a few months) will end up being super-awesome in the finale. The bad guys throughout history are retrieving memories, but when some poo ends up hitting the fan, Desmond will remember the lives of all of these people and he'll have muscle memory to do just what all of them did -- combined. Plus, with modern weaponry.

I think it could be pretty awesome.
