Does Assassin's Creed (as purchased from GOG.com) have an option for captions/subtitles?

I'm deaf myself, and would like to know the answer to this. If no subtitles, then no purchase for me. Thanks.

Maybe this link helps (quick search in google brought me this):

Dang, I was going to scoop this one up but the link shows that there's no subs. :(

Darn.
Ass Creed 2 does have subtitles, and since one of the characters even mentions it ingame, seems like Ass Creed 1 never had them. I think. Never played 1.

2 and Brotherhood do have subtitles.
An advantage to Ass Creed 2 having subs and 1 not is that you won't have to sit through the mess that is Assassins Creed 1.
Thanks to all who responded. Looks like I won't be getting it ...
The astonishing reveal that such a game as this (which as far as I know is dialog heavy) doesn't have subtitles made me go google, and yeah, people from gamefaqs, steam and other forums complain about this.

I'm pretty sure they (Ubisoft Montreal) didn't do it because of budget restrictions and it boggles my mind.

You know, is it that hard to add subtitles to games given the available tools these days? I'm a bit shocked this hasn't been a given since 2005 or so...
I was noticing the lack of them when I was playing. It was so out of the ordinary I thought it was weird. It didn't even occur to me that it could also be a problem. Its quite dialog heavy at times so it would be hard to enjoy for someone without hearing.

Even if you can its hard to understand why going faster than a snail makes men with swords try to kill you. Why do I have to travel so far, and why can't I hit the run button....in the middle of nowhere?
Well it IS a game full of horrible design decisions, so the lack of a crucial feature shouldn't come as a surprise, really.

Given the huge costs to produce voiced dialogs it seems very unlikely to me that the additional costs of providing subtitles really would have enhanced the budget significantly. It's like saving in the wrong place.
