We're back with the long-forgotten "Ask the Developers a Question", where we give you the chance to ask some of the industry's top developers questions about your favorite games. This time you have a chance to ask your question to industry legend (and man behind the acclaimed [url=http://www.gog.com/en/catalogue#all_genres/search/broken sword/]Broken Sword series) Charles Cecil from Revolution Software. We're gathering your inquiries at users-at-gog.com and in the comments section until Friday, February 11 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. From all your questions we'll pick the 5 most interesting ones—as well as some of our own—and pass them along to Charles for his answers. The winning question writers will receive a code for any currently-listed GOG game of their choice.

The full Q&A will be posted on GOG.com as soon as we receive all the answers—and we may just have a surprise for you when we post them, too!
What do you think is the best view for Broken Sword: 2D or 3D and why?

Kabuto: Were you onboard with the idea to bring your games to GOG drm-free right away or did it take a lot of convincing before you finally accepted?
This would be interesting to hear from a lot of devs!
Many good questions I would like to hear an answer to so far. Here's mine:

How do you see the state of adventure games today? With the release of many classical point & click adventures (mainly German and European titles), do you still think 2D adventures are dead?
When will the movie ready? and is the broken sword 2 remastered coming to wii?
Have you been to any of the countries depicted in the Broken Sword- games?
How much harder and more expensive is to produce a 2D adventure featuring wonderful hand-made backgrounds like BS, compared to the use of 3D engines? What do you think was the main reason why the adventures shifted from 2D to 3D starting from the mid 90s? Do you think their concurrent relegation from one of the most important VG genres to a niche one was due (or related) to this shift?
btw, thanks a lot for BASS and the 2 BS. I'd like very much to see BASS II tough!
1) With all this questions about sequels (which are very interesting) I would like to know if you are working in any original IP?

2) Would you say your next game will be closer to 3D or to 2D?

3) What's your view on the new variations on the adventure game genre in games like Heavy Rain, Stacking, Ghost Trick or Portal?

4) What's your opinion on mobile phone gaming? Do you think that touchscreens will be important in future of adventures games?

5) Are you planning to develop games or bring back your old catalogue to the new handhelds like the Nintendo 3DS and Sony NGP?
1. Do you think touch screen tablet platforms like iPad or iPhone are limiting an adventure game developer, or actually offer a better environment for this genre?

2. In your view, will multiplayer mode in adventure games become a popular or even a standard option?

3. What are your favourite "good old games" and developers? Maybe there are some classic adventure titles that gave you inspiration/motivation to design your own games?

4. Somewhat off-topic. Do you use a computer when you write down your game ideas, scripts and stories? If you do, is it Mac or PC, and do you use any special editor like Scrivener?

5. And, of course, is there any hope for a new game coming from Revolution any time soon? :)

Thanks!
Will there be a director's cut on PC for the other members of the Broken Sword series?
Nicko Collard or George Stobbart?
Did you ever considered the idea of making another 2D adventure?
Any chance the adventure game scene will allow mod developers to participate? Honestly, I think this is what's missing from the genre to keep a game going.
What games/books/movies you guys usally read/play/watch when finding an idea for a game?
I am curious as to why you chose a French woman and an American man as the protagonists for the game. Also...why was "broken sword" chosen as the title?
What (new-ish) type of development tools have you started using that you felt most useful?
