I was looking on the Army Men video game Wikipedia page, trying to find out who owns the franchise now that 3DO is gone. It said that 2K now owns the franchise, but do they also own the distribution rights to the original games that were published by 3DO?
The reason I want to know is so that is GOG ends up picking the distributor, I can go "Yay! Maybe we'll get the original Army Men games!"
These were really nice! I bet Amazon still has the pack. There was a green pack with all the games in it.
Those games are my childhood.
Oh I still have all the CDs at my parents' house, but I wouldn't mind having them all on Gog. CDs don't last forever.
I just recovered the copy of Sarge's War that I lent to a friend years ago. I went out of town this past New Year's Eve, and he was like, "You left this at my house". Apparently, it's the first game NOT made by 3DO (developed instead by new owners Global Star/2K), and the last in the series.

Yea I have both bundle packs, which is the first 10 games.

I remember being let down by Army Men 2's really short length. Ohhh I want to play those again...

I played the skirmish mode on Toys in Space pretty much all the time, I think it was my favorite since I got to command whole squads rather than a single dude.
I enjoyed the Air Attack series. Especially when you got the Apache. And fought ants with it.

Probably the most pointless post ever.

Air Tactics was better in my opinion. It looked better, and the action wasn't quite as hectic.
You know, this actually brings back memories. I remember when I was five, I was always seeing my dad play all these cool war games, and I remember telling him that I wanted one for my next birthday. Well, on my next birthday, I got Army Men. And the game kicked my butt. But I didn't care, because I had a game with army dudes that killed bad army dudes.

I later got a pack that came with the first one, the second one, Toys in Space, and Air Tactics. I have great memories of those, even though I've never finished a single one.

Long story short, I get feelings of nostalgia when these games are mentioned.

Agreed, but Air Attack 2 was really good. Me and my sister would play the co-op on the same keyboard all day. Such good memories.

I would make my sister do co-op with Air Attack and Sarge's Heroes. I wonder whatever happened to designing games with 1 keyboard coop?

Daedalus1138: I would play with plastic army men all the time, and when I found out there was a video game series with plastic army men, and I told my parents about the games. My parents loved the idea of the series, so that Christmas I got pack 1 with 1, 2, Toys in Space, and Air Tactics, then the following Christmas I got the pack with Sarge's Heroes, Air Attack, and World at War.

It's really sad that this franchise is dead through poor choices made by game developers.
Aaah, Army Men, nothing screams more nostalgia in my mind. I have the first, second, Toys in Space and Air Tactics originals, never got any of the other games. I miss them... Damn it, these were very good games, why can't they come back?! :D
