I like GOG particularly because of the freedom and simplicity of it all. I don't need any of those fancy features or anything, I just need my games.

So let me know what your other favorite digital distributors are.

GamersGate is fairly nice. Often but not always DRM-free, blue coins are cool, goodish sales, etc. Dotemu is probably the closest thing to GOG, also DRM-free retro games, but they have some stuff that GOG doesn't. Judging by your Steam thread, I assume you're looking for clientless stuff?

GOG, Gamersgate and Steam. I remove the DRM from the games I plan to play again so the Steam client doesn't bother me as much as it should.

Could you perhaps PM me with the method used to circumvent that DRM? Or maybe you don't have to PM me, maybe the mods here don't care. Not like we're talking about pirating.

I find Steam fairly simple: right-click an icon, left-click another icon, play. Brilliant.

All those games are pretty mediocre, but I guess that's beside the point.

What does it's DRM consist of? Does it vary?
