This never happens to me... well, almost never. Me and the wife watched Rocky (the first) last week, and last night we watched Rocky II, neither of which I've seen in decades.

The message must've been lost on me as a kid because I just thought they were cool boxing movies. Last night though, the very end of Rocky II had me so choked up I couldn't speak. In fact, as soon as the credits started rolling I got up as quick as I could and switched it out for Ip Man or something so my wife wouldn't notice.

It's not a sad ending by any means, but happy, heavy, and inspirational. Dude is a nobody from the slums of Philadelphia, gets signed on to fight someone nobody thought he stood a chance against, and by the end of the second film becomes the champion.

Anyway, I was surprised at my reaction, maybe because I had never seen the movies in the right order... but damn if that wasn't a good ending. And that music!
Just watched Les Misérables again (first time since the theater release), and it made me well up at the end - again.
didn't we just have a thread like this?
I watched Midnight Cowboy for the first time a few months ago, and the ending almost made me cry...almost.

Did we? Good thing I don't care.

LOL!
Braveheart and Lord of the Rings.

Neither do I. :P

Anyway back on topic.
I cried at the end of "Fellowship of the Ring" when I realized I wasn't getting my $6 back.

Haha :-P

To be honest the LOTR movies had to grow on me a bit. To this day, nothing compares to Braveheart's battles, and that's what I kept thinking while watching the LOTR movies.

Licurg: Braveheart and Lord of the Rings.
Braveheart's ending has a similar effect on me as Rocky II's ending.

Braveheart is probably my favorite movie of all time. Good stuff.

The other two were okay, it's that first one that was sooooooo slooooooooow. What really ticks me off about the series is my favorite is the "Two Towers" and every time I mention it I get bludgeoned with "That's the worst one!" like it somehow how makes me defective. I mean, I am defective, but not because of this.

That part where he finds out his wife was killed...
Nope, I'm a manly man so I never cry.
Ah, I immediately think of «Les Derniers Jours du monde.», french movie I saw recently.
But you surely don't know it, so let's rather name «Of Mice and Men», too.
And the short film «Ilhas das Flores», which fake humoristic tone devastated me.

In these last cases, I don't dare to watch them anymore, for I fear not to feel like I did and therefore let my then emotion look a bit laughable.

There's a lot more, no doubt, but that's all I come up with without thinking at this moment.

I'm not particularly emotional but I try to let movies/series get to me when I can, I love tearing up at moving moments. The Rocky movies certainly have some great ones. I think the last time I broke up was the British mini-series 'In the Flesh', the scene with the dad in the final episode.

There's a Jdorama called 'One Litre of Tears (translated)' (The series, not the movie). I've never cried so much in my life, and seriously without embellishment I wouldn't be surprised if the title was a 100% fitting, and I still break up watching it. Can't even listen to the soundtrack without getting a lump in my throat.

That part where he sees his wife in the crowd, and she smiles at him.
...The Green Mile.
