I picked Aquanox 2 up from Gamersgate over the weekend but couldnt download it. So after a few emails they tell me this..
"We experience some issues with the game and therefore i issued a refund on it since it is not currently available. Sorry. "
Except the game is still available on their site..
Really lose confidence in digital downloads when c**p like this happens.
Is the game about to be pulled from gog and steam maybe ? .. i remember a few codemasters titles being unavailable after a time.
All games on GOG are tested. And as far as I know there are some games they didn't release because of bugs. But to be on the safe site take a look in the game forum before you buy a game. Because we are talking here in most cases about old games, some of them still and will have and have some bugs.
Edit: Do you know what exactly is the problem with the Gamersgate version, so maybe someone here can test it?

How is this even remotely connected to what stuntpup is talking about?

He asked if Aquanox 2 will be removed from GOG because of bugs, like Gamersgate did it. Because GOG test all games before release the probability of this is very small.
Also it seems he feels not confident with digital download services any more, so to get a better feeling about buying a game from GOG it is maybe a good idea to check the forum for problems with the game.

Its very connected, how do you not see that? It's mostly addressing the first point about gamesgate having issues and how GOG tests their stuff, unlike most other sites. The question about the game being pulled isn't really based on anything, just because one site is having technical issues doesn't mean that the game is being pulled frmo anywhere.

Well i never got as far as downloading the game because it was their download app that refused to work.
This is what i wrote on Gamersgate's 'Game Tutor'
Still cant download this since last friday.. have tried with uac off, admin rights, different download directory, safe mode, with antivirus off etc etc.
I've downloaded a number of games from gamersgate so i cant see why i should have a problem with this one !
Incidentally all i can download is the actual small downloader, nothing from the game itself is downloaded, not a byte.
this is the error -
"An error has occured while downloading. The download is now paused. You may unpause the download to try again. Error message: Server did not accept the request. (Server replied with HTTP status:404, expected 200)\"
anyway no matter i will pick it up from gog at some point, unless it does disappear from everywhere !

No he didn't, and no they didn't. He couldn't even download the game, even though it was still up for sale. They were having "issues" with the game. Not a word about bugs. And the problems there have been with other Codemasters games have not been bug-related either, but licensing-related.
Just to clarify for those that don't know, the licensing issues with previous Codemasters games had to do with the licensing of the cars in the games, not the game license itself. Anyone who previously bought the game before it was removed can still download it and play it.

Okay, my english is not very good, so maybe I misinterpret something wrong.
I don't believe there are licensing problems, because the game is still on sale. What problems exactly there are they don't tell, so I just wanted to show if there are problems with the game itself (defect files, bugs), there is no reason not to buy it from GOG. But you're right, the exact reason we don't know.
Btw, there version of Aquanox still uses DRM, while Aquanox 2 is labeled as DRM-free. Just speculations, but surprisingly UFO Aftershock is now after GOGs DRM-free release also labeled as DRM-free. Maybe there went something wrong. Again, just speculations.

A possible correction to your correction: What about Operation Flashpoint and... another Codemasters game whose name escapes me at the moment? Those licensing issues had nothing to do with cars, to the best of my knowledge. Generally, Codemasters just seem to be bothersome to do business with.

good to know you can still download what you have bought if it is removed from sale.
I have a feeling i was refunded for my issue with Gamersgate because it was the easiest thing to do. Somebody else had the same issue as myself but maybe most people can download and install from there without a hitch.
However I have emailed support (@ Gamersgate) for more information as to the 'unavailability' of Aquanox 2 to see if its a licence issue.
The word "crap" doesn't need to be filtered.

The issue with Operation Flashpoint - if I remember correctly - was regarding licensing of music used in the game. The other game was added back later when the issue had been cleared up, I believe it was Cannon Fodder though I do not remember the stated issue. Both were still available to customers who had already bought the game when it was pulled.

Obscure was also removed, but it if you bought it you can still download your files.

Edit: As far as I remember Original War was removed, but came back later. Did you mean this, Miaghstir?

Yeah, that was the one. Memory failed.
