With last updates client starts to look better, and has bigger functionality.

Nothing to worry about.

Oh, I forgot. It eats your soul.

keeveek: No.
I know I am just kidding :)
But Origin contributes 10% of their income to sponsor human trafficking and teenage prostitution
Last week or so they banned a guy from the BF forums, consequently banning him from the game as well. Supposedly he was 'misusing his premium'. All he did was post a link to GMG saying Battlefield 3 premium was on sale there with the -25% code. Apparently the guy who banned him didn't consider it a legit site, "no it isn't".

Took him a while but it's been reversed now apparently, after a lot of hoops. I'd recommend staying off any EA owned forums.

I know I have no interest in using Origin's Forum, I have not even used Steam's Forums

BF3 itself is an ok game. It didn't give me the kick of BF:BC2 for some reason but that's perhaps because that was my first experience with the series/top line shooters and I was a little band of brothers infatuated at the time. I still play it every now and then, just not very long usually.

But now I am faced with another fear the renting servers where people get booted out of the game so please tell me its not that serious as people say it is?

If I wouldn't have read it on the forums here and there I wouldn't even know. I just search for a nearby low ping server with the map/rotation I want, with the number of people I want and go. Maybe there's some anal servers or something but generally I don't notice the difference. Maybe on smaller maps I guess (I prefer 32 people or up).

Well then the best we can do is stay the freak away from the forums and if we need tips for BF3 we will use GOGs
I have never used Origin. When it first came out I liked the idea of a client competing against Steam, but EA is something else.
The newest build of Origin now gives users the option to opt out of most data collection in the privacy settings and in the last Q&A with the developers they plan to expand this further.

In upcoming builds they have Achievements coming as well as video recording and playback.
