Ok, as some of you may know if you saw my previous thread discussing batch, I have more than a little interest in all things command line.

As such, I was looking around ye olde internet today and came across a command line email client called Alpine. It looks very interesting but I would like to find out as much as I can about it. Setting it up, ease of use, compatibility, features etc. Can anyone give me any info on it please? Anyone used it before?

Also, if anyone knows of any other good command line programs or telnet stuff etc. Please share. I would very much appreciate any info. Thanks. :)

Maybe this was all a bit too obscure lol.
Is Alpine a branch off pine, perhaps? I haven't used that for actual mail, just its editor, pico, for other text files, before the stand-alone nano.

Actually, it's an updated version of Pine. :)
