JudasIscariot: If, however, you have a bad day and you just want to lay into someone and not get sent off to jail for it, then I can only suggest Hotline Miami as one of the finest purveyors of passionate pugilism all to the tune of a kick-ass soundtrack. :D
So true :D If I come pissed from whatever, launching Hotline Miami mades my day every time.

I don't even mind dying a lot - the whole premise of beating motherfuckers to the grounds, slice their throats, cut them in half etc etc. is a golden prize after shitty day :D

Also, I always take the "door kill" mask. Killing a person with a door, and then chopping two others into pieces in 3 seconds is... awesome

+1

I really like your enthusiasm! :D

echoMateria: Buy them both. It's not like they'll get cheaper in 2 weeks, both released very recently and this is the highest discount you'll get for them for a while.
You never know what might happen on a holiday sale...
Well, I went for it and got them both. I forget what movie this is from or if I have the quote exactly right but...

I will endeavor to persevere!

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I appreciate it very much.

tfishell: Full Hotline Miami Soundtrack

;)
Wow, I have to say that it is a very good argument in favor of the game. Wishlisted! Too bad the soundtrack is not included; but with this music in the background while playing, I think I'd enjoy it even if it actually was "pretentious, overrated crap". ;)

I'm listening to the soundtrack now. I like it! I have a feeling iTunes doesn't play ogg files and I am going to need to learn about converting them on my Mac.

You made the right decision. FTL to me is one of the true stand-out games of the year, and while I haven't been able to get Hotline Miami working on WINE yet, I look forward to getting the Mac version when it gets released. If you're curious, you can look over my Inside Mac Games review of FTL (one of the better articles I've written for IMG, I think).
Don't know about Hotline Miami, but FTL is completely awesome.

Thanks. It will be fun to read your review before I start playing it myself.

Thank you for the link. I checked that out but notice it hasn't been updated since 2009. I read the FAQ as well and apparently you have to run iTunes in 32 bit mode which I'm not thrilled about really. It's too bad there is no info about Mountain Lion compatibility and an update to work with 64 bit iTunes.

I think my best bet will be to do some searching for a utility that will convert ogg to mp3. I am guessing there are some of those available to choose from.

That was a very good review. I enjoyed reading that. While there i noticed you reviewed Defender's Quest which is a game I recently added to my Steam wish list. So I read that one, another good job! I think I will like Defender's Quest a lot.

Defender's Quest nearly ruined my life; I played a few battles only to end up going on an all-night bender where I played almost 16 hours non-stop. I stumbled into work the following morning half-dead from exhaustion and eyestrain.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words! I don't know if you checked out my Interview with TheEnigmaticT or my "Crossing Over" series (now rendered only partially obsolete thanks to GOG's official Mac support), but I hope you'll find those just as interesting and enlightening too. :)
