Title pretty much says it. And if so, do you know of any really good ones?

This type of thing has been used to publicize movies, and I tend to stay away from those. What I really like are the ones created for their own sake.

Just wondering. I wrote a post here a looong time ago because I had forgotten what the genre was called and for the life of me couldn't find my way back to it. But somehow, a few weeks ago, it popped into my head again.
What, you mean aside from the countless "What if Winston Churchill didn't have a ham sandwich for lunch on November 27, 1938" games that are out?
I remember Alter Ego but don't think that would count

I don't play any arg's but I have gotten into the Slenderman mythos. Waiting for season 3 of Marble Hornets to start up, but in the meantime I'm introducing myself to EverymanHybred.

Talk about pure paranoia fuel...

for those that don't know what ARG's are, TvTropes has a good definition of it: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AlternateRealityGame
"A genre of online game where a fictional storyline is written and presented as if it were a legitimate construct within our own world, as opposed to existing only in reality of the story...

The key feature of an Alternate Reality Game is that it does not present itself as a game per-se: it gives the outward appearance of being a real-life adventurous situation, just something the player has stumbled upon. However, an ARG is distinctly a game. The games consist — for the most part — in tracking down clues scattered across the real and virtual world and assembling them to solve a mystery."
