For one, yea, I do, methinks!

Yet, forsooth, I fear that the commercial success of TWII shall lead the developer to push the envelope further in that rather bland direction.

I never had to struggle with the bugs, mind you. But then again:

- TWII interface was a console port to an obnoxious degree!!!! Take looting as an example. It opens individually for each fallen foe, and does not even auto-close. If one does not wish to serve PC gamers... just don't!

- Two Worlds was a wast open world exploration, TWII was small and rather linear, making the gameplay a whole lot more unforgiving. And in the first, at least you are reminded of your sister then and again.

- I for one think that the voice acting in the first game is legendary, without any patronizing undertone of "it's so bad it is actually funny." Sometimes it maybe was, but I would personally preferred to have the guy doing the voice in the first game keep at it. I came to rather like his authenticity, and the old school English was rather charming in fact.

I would much rather see the eventual TWIII gravitate towards the first game for ... most of it. You think the same, you think different?

Pray tell! :-D
I preferred two worlds 2 in pretty much every aspect.

Did you play on PC? I'm surprised the looting did not feel cumbersome!
I haven't gotten II yet, but I love the first one. It's actually one of my favorite games.
While I'm all for to each their own merits, it is only fair to compare the work of a same development studio on a game from a first release to the next, and for me Two Worlds II was very, very much more enjoyable. Better engine, better controls, better story writing, streamlined quests and interface and crafting etc.. What was cool with these games was stacjking equimment of a same kind to make one better, great idea!

yup on PC. I didn't mind the looting at all.

My biggest problem with TW1 was the voice acting, I couldn't stand it to the point it eventually prevented me from even bothering to finish the game.

The voice acting was the best part! Once I learned they fixed TW2 in that regard, I lost a bit of interest. Their monstrous abuse of "ye olde english" is a rare treat! Forsooth, methinks it is so.
Yes, loved the first TW, it was unique. TW2 although still good lacks the magic.
I prefer TWII in all aspects...

And it gets a honorable mention for trying to do something innovative with the magic system

A fair point as the voice acting was not arguably up to par with developers such as BioWare where the excellence of it really adds to the game experience.

However, from my perspective, there are such countless cases of professionally voice acted yet bland games that I take quite shamelessly my guilty pleasures with Two Worlds. The archaic dialogue with earnestness of the voicing ended up winning me over, as a positive and unique differentiator.

The choice of going in-house was of course highly economical, but... rather cool and original in balance of things, IMO. I do not hate the guy who does the lead character in TWII, yet I actually rather miss the original hero...

I for one regrettably just cannot love the PC interface of TWII despite the greater polish... In view of countless cases of looting, the cumbersomeness and the waste of time from my perspective just ended up being monumental. I have to draw the parallel with The Witcher that made its first success with the PC platform but took the xbox contoller as the yardstick for the sequel, more or less...
