Redfern: Steam? That is it, i dunno? Anyway, try to boil some water if you need some :))).

wpegg: But then it will get away? We need a way to make the steam go down?
Boil some heavy water?

I like your thinking, but this water will be at the bottom, so surely it would boil last?

I'm pretty sure the brownian motion of boiling water cancels out any difference between the weights of individual water molecules.
Reverse the gravitational field after the water starts boiling. :p

SpellSword: However for the last few days many people have been unable to log in to steam or stay connected once they manage to do so. Seems to be a problem on their side of things judging by the chatter I'm reading.
Steam was down, was it on Thursday? http://www.issteamdown.com/ confirmed it, and I couldn't log in either. Not sure if it was some scheduled maintenance.

Now it seems to be up (according to the aforementioned page; I didn't try to log in now because Steam refuses to do that when I have VPN connection to my work active, like right now).

If you use steamstatus (http://steamstat.us/), it shows the status of each steam service, and how long the uptime have been. For example, the store page may be down, but the client servers can still be up (and vice versa) I it to be a little bit more helpful than issteamdown. It also auto refreshes constantly every 10 sec or so, so it is easy to see if a service comes online again.

OldFatGuy: Or is it just me?
No it's not only you. I have also trouble accepting steam... xD
avatar
FantasyNightmare: When I clicked on the page, it changes to 50% :/
Also, $0.01 is NOT 100% off Steam
avatar
OldFatGuy: I thought it was a negative $0.01, but I guess that would make it 101% off. :P

Oh, and when I switched to the page, there was simply nothing there to click to add it to the cart.
You're right, it is $-0.01. I wonder why I never saw the negative symbol :/
The only problem I've had with Steam recently is that every time I first try to log on, it fails, but succeeds on the second attempt. Don't know whether that is a problem my end or theirs, but it's been going on for about a month or so. :/
Seem to be able to log in.... not able to get anything from the local content servers though... not sure what that deal is (damn limited internets and its rationing via quotas ><)
