PaterAlf: ...
There are not so many strategy indie games. Besides
Conquistador, I would recommend
Eador: Genesis. Haven't played the other Eador game (Master of the Broken Worlds), so I don't know if they patched out all the bugs that were reported when it was released. I also liked
Kings of Dragon Pass, but that might not be that kind of strategy game you are looking for.
Lords of Midnight might also be fine, but I haven't played that one. And of cours there is Defcon which looks great and which is probably a lot about strategy (but again I haven't played it).
And even if it is not strategy (but you also asked for turn-based), I have to recommend
Sword of the Stars: The Pit.
Thanks! Food for my wishlist. :) The only indie strategy games I'm really waiting for are Legends of Eisenwald and Xenonauts, but I backed both already.
xxxIndyxxx: I'm not sick of them here, like others i see expanding the catalogue as a good thing. I'm just sick of them in general. Most of them are overrated garbage (same with tripple A) and it used to be somthing special, now there is one coming out every day...
I feel the same. Many indies may be hyped more than what they are worth, even worse than what is done for classics. That's only a subjective view but I guess this is the core of what some people (me included) feel.
I doesn't mean I don't like them, only I feel they overemphasized and that is annoying in the long term.
