Beyonder: Bought this game a few weeks ago and been playing on and off.
What Ive noticed is that there hasnt been much "team" work in it. Is this the standard with public servers?
Most of the servers Ive been on are just really everyone running around doing their own business.
Ive played the payload maps the most and I get slaughtered a hell of alot. Mainly play soldier, but try out the other classes too from time to time. Never got the spy to work good either.
I`ll check out that "Simiancage" server I think.. hehe

Unfortunantly you will find this alot. Just try to find a good server with people that actually use communication and this is one of the most re-playable games in history. With the 9 classes it never gets old. (imo)
In the evenings (usually 5pm-11pm PST) my server is almost always active with the members of my clan and a lot of regulars. We are all laid back and actually are in the process of recording TF2 "classes" to help out the newer members. Hop on sometime and we can show you the ropes.

I'm a big TF2 fan. I played it like crazy when it first came out and after a few months, I stopped playing so I could play The Witcher! I've recently gotten back into it over the past month or so and loving it again.
EDIT: I mainly play as medic, but I'm trying to get better at other classes that I haven't played much. I joined the GOG Steam community :D

I have TF2, but since I've gotten my kids all the time, I find it harder to sit down at my desktop to play it. My laptop is pretty easy, because I can take it with me everywhere, but it isn't strong enough for TF2.

You bet, Team Fortress 2 eats up so much of my time than I would like to admit. When I'm not on an old game on my computer likelyhood is I am on Team Fortress 2. I main pyro and medic. Pyro is great for pubs but I use medic for my competitive matches.

Played it from time to time, but for some reason I just couldn't stay in the game that long. Guess it's my gamer add, lol. Just joined the group so hopefully looking forward to getting back in.

Yup Yup, I log at least 12 hours a week with TF2, love it to death. I truly think that valve made one of the best multiplayer experiences on the pc to date...
p.s. wheres the GOG steam community?

I play Team Fortress 2 weekly with my clan. I've been playing it less so because I'm starting to get bored with it over other games, but I find it to be a refreshingly fun multiplayer experience compared to other games like the Battlefield series and Counter-Strike. Not to mention the art is great and that I love all the characters.
I am competent in six of the nine player classes (meaning I can keep a 1:1 point-death ratio in most matches with the following:) Soldier, Sniper, Engineer, Heavy, Pyro, and Spy. The rest I am not good with at all. Especially Demoman.

My favorite class is Scout, easily. My most played and the one I am best with. All should fear the Scout on defense. I have a mic and use it a ton. I'm not shy, I swear. I usually play with 4 or 5 friends, but will work with anybody in the game who puts forth an effort.

I've been playing Team Fortress on QuakeWars, Team Fortress Classic (lovely clan wars in that one) and spent a lot of time playing Team Fortress 2.
I'm a helluva Soldier, if I do say so myself, and can do a lot of good stuff as a HWG, Medic and Scout.
I stopped playing TF2 because my main focus was on clan wars. Fighting a reasonably organized team, while in a reasonably organized team, with crits disabled can be fun. If only TF2 was designed with clan wars in mind, of course. :)
Unfortunately, since clan wars are ultimately centered around the Ubercharge, they are mostly redundant and boring. Plus, my clan started acting all pr0-like and essentially wanted me to give up my personal life in order to play all da time... Yep, that's reason enough to be fed up, methinks. :)
Overall a good game though, and if you're planning on playing some TF2 in the foreseeable future, I'm ready to rocket the lot of you into oblivion! :P
