Hey everyone - first post. Let me start off by saying I am extremely excited about this website. I have been hoping somebody would make a site like this for such a long time and here it finally is.
My question is this - I know this is all just getting off the ground right now, but are there any plans in the near/distant future for any kind of multiplayer hosting (like Steam and MSN Gaming Zone)? If you guys were to release Total Annihilation AND host multiplayer servers for it I would be set for life. Of course I'm not really sure how these things work...I'm sure it's a lot more complicated and expensive than I can imagine, but I figured it was worth asking anyway.
BTW here's the games I'm crossing my fingers for
Grim Fandango
Planescape: Torment
The Longest Journey
thanks!
i don't mean to perform thread necromancy here, but i just had the same thought. blues news just reported that sierra will be shutting down servers and support forums for 21 games, and one on the list is a game i would love to see at GOG -- aliens v. predator 2.
that got me thinking about whether or not GOG would ever consider hosting multiplayer for games that have a strong multiplayer component.
so, GOG, what do you think?
Seems very possible to me, probably a long way down the line. GOG is still in its infancy, I bet in two-three years, they'll consider something like that.
You are asking for too much. GOG.com must still survive the beta stage and get a decent catalogue of "Good Old Games".
Every other thing, the extras and anything, is secondary....
