Oh hell yeah, I love this game. Though I hate it sometimes too considering the matchmaking system, but on the whole, I do enjoy it. My 2 favorite tanks so far are the KV tier 5 heavy tank, and T-32 heavy tier 8 tank. I must admit, I do enjoy blowing other tanks up :D

P.S I am also on the EU servers. Anarchy99 is my name.

If anyone else checks this post, take a look at the website, watch some vids. This is a FREE TO PLAY game, so no money needs to part from your wallet in order to play. and its wicked fun :)

Ah cool...I'll add you to my friends list there.

I'm currently on a long vacation abroad but trying to get WoT to work here lol.

Yeah with thoose tanks you can blow up tanks :-P

I have no tier 8...my highest is tier 5 US TD Wolverine. Not the best tank but can be fun to play. I like to play many tanks though. Mostly lower tier. I also got a russion tier 3 artillery.
I used to play it in beta, then a while after the release and somehow I lost interest.

Is it really free to play? Or free to play if you want to get owned by paying customers...

Well put it this way, you can if you choose to, purchase premium tanks, which net you more cash per match (KV-5, Lowe and a few others) . Also there is the premium per day, week, month, 6 months or year aka sort of subscription, which basicly gives you extra exp and cash, and a sweet looking garage for your tanks to rest in. But all of this is optional. You can stick with playing it as much or as little as you want, and dont have to pay a single penny. I have never bought a single premium tank, but have bought a few months of premium subscription just for the extra cash and exp, but that was my choice because at the end of the day, I do enjoy the game and think buying the premium sub is worth it.

Well I dont know how far back it was when you played, and I am unsure what tanks were available, but we do now have american TD'S, And just recently we have the new French line. I personally hate everything about the french tanks and have only managed to get to tier 4. However those that have gotten past tier 6 say they are having a lot of fun. If you do decide to play, and you play french, I would suggest the light tanks, as from what I have seen, they kick some SERIOUS ass :P

What about premium ammo? I got a coupon worth 25 bucks of time and gold to spend in game. So I went and read about it on their site but it seemed to me like you needed to pay to be able to play competitively. Was I wrong in that impression?

It's not even that I'd never be willing to pay for something I liked but I wouldn't want to be bothered doing a free period if the experience was not going to be a good one which for me translates to being on a relatively even playing field with paying folks.

I currently have a Slugger, which is the upgrade of the Wolverine. Oh btw, I now have the T-34 Tier 9 tank, and so far I HATE it. Purely because I feel like I did in my T-29. I have the SAME gun, just more health. So going up against tier 9 with a tier 7 gun sucks lol. Roll on when the new patch comes in to replace the damn thing with the M103.

Put it this way, only someone with a stupid amount of money would purchase gold ammo for random battles. lol. And considering the new mechanic added to the game called *spaced armor* you will get just as many dings and bounces as you do with standard ammo, so it would be a waste of time and money. No from what I have experienced players dont use the gold ammo. If they do, I think that is more in the Clan Wars aspect of the game.

P.S Just so you know, a standard tank can fight a premium tank usually no problem. The only one that had a significant edge was the Type 59, which they have now removed from the store. The tank itself you will still see in game, and that is the most annoying tank I have ever seen. However they can be beaten, just like any tank. And the other premiums you can damage if you know where to shoot (Top of the turret where the commander is usually, undercarriage works for every single tank in the game)

You may find this interesting too. May help you in the early stage of the game. Free tier 2 premium tank. Comes with free tank slot, extra barrack's space for the crew and is a REALLY good tank to play for a bit of extra cash. Valid until 4th of february

In beta, there were only German and USSR lines, along with a few premium British tank. When I stopped playing, therd were some US tanks too.

However the only tanks I have ever played were the German ones :)
My problem was that the gam is far too grindy. Grind to equip your tank, then grind to get new tank, then grind for the new tank's equipment and then.... While I had no friends to play with, I am not sure if it would entertain me enough. I may try it sometimes again, though.

Is that not the way with most games? Except with this game you get to blow the shit out of other people. And if you enjoy it, you can invite your own freinds to come along along to team up in a platoon (You need to have a premium subscription in order to invite players into platoon, of which only 3 people can be in a platoon at any given time including yourself). Either way, much fun to be had, but at the same time you will probably get pissed off just as much. But that is when you know it is a good game :P

Just a small correction (and possible thread necro): you actually CAN invite people into a platoon without premium account...but only to a total of 2. To have 3 man platoon you need the premium account yes.
