Years ago, before I got hooked on Sierra's quest games (Space Quest 1 VGA was the first one I ever played) I played a few obscure PC games that were actually kinda neat. I doubt if I still have the disks for them, but I would like to see them on GOG someday.
Psychic War. It's basically a first person dungeon crawl, but the game's art style left was unforgettable. You start with one (or two characters? Not sure) and to get more people, you basically negotiate with the random aliens you encounter. The overall goal kinda eludes me, but you basically go from ship to ship searching for keys, better equipment, and supplies.
Overlord. Star control kinda looks like this one. No, I don't mean the console game of the same name. It may have been known by a different name in the UK, but here in the states it was called Overlord. You have to slowly conquer different universes, and each one has a different alien overlord that you must fend off while you train soldiers, outfit them, and terraform planets and such. Just making a planet livable and taking care of its own problems is challenging enough without dealing with the alien attacks.
Wibarm. I hardly remember it. xP But it was kinda neat if I remember correctly. You had a vehicle that could transform into a robot and back. I almost finished it but Dad was always reformatting his computer back then.
