Thank you, I'm happy you got a kick out of it, it was just as fun creating it too :D
Now, as for who gets the prize, a difficult choice indeed, but after going over the entries I pick dutchexcalibur's. Of all the entries not picked, his had me visualizing the world of fallout the best...giving me a sense of death, loss, and hopelessness. So I guess it's your lucky day dutchexcalibur, now save that bullet for another day friend, you've got some waste-wandering to do. :)

Deus_Ex: The contest is now closed. Thank you for all participants, I had a great time reading all your entries (including those who didn't abide by the 120 word max rule). I've now decided upon the winners, congratulations to you all and let's hope I can organise yet another game giveaway in the near future that gives us all a chance to enjoy the fruits of each others' labour. Here are the winners and the reasons following their victory:


Arianus - The little rebel that could. Your entry broke the rules but at the same time I felt it was justified and necessary to build up the tension for the upcoming, epic ending. It was a very good short story, and it's writing like this that's missing from todays games. You get a fallout game for free!
Holy Cow I Won!!! Man I'm so excited this is the first time I've won anything on the forums! I had alot of fun writing it so thanks for promting me with a contest :D

Looking forward to my first ever run through of Fallout 2 I hope its better then Fallout 3 (I know there different but F3 sucked for me)

I very much enjoy the Fallout world. Now I can continue the story!

Fallout reminds me of the Mad Max stories. I've enjoyed those movies and the imaginings they inspired in me. It's nice to revisit all that with the Fallout series.

A sun rises on the east. A sun sets on the west. It is so beautiful.
Another sun appears on the north. Bye bye, uncle Johnny!
Mom tells me not to look. How can I not? It is so nice and warm.
I ask her whether sun will rise here too. She doesn’t want to answer.
No. Silly me. Daddy will protect us! He is a great pilot. No bomb will make sun here.
I still packed. I promised Daddy that I will. Didn’t want to leave home and my toys.
Oh. Sky is so pretty today. So many colors. It’s after my bedtime but it is still so bright.
I know where we are going. I asked what’s Vault Twelve is. It’s our new home.
I hope it is nice.

oh. i do own all three but i wanted to write a short story even after a contest is over :)

You're welcome to! I enjoyed this contest immensely, it gave me a chance to witness some stunning writing and I think it surprised me how many people have talent once they put theirs hearts into it. I'm trying to think of another idea for the next game giveaway as awesome as this, but so far haven't come up with anything
