Sorry, bear with me. If I save my games to a flash drive, which would include the game set up. I would be able to download it and make it work as long as the computer has an OS right? I put one on my external drive and it would not work straight from there because it has no OS , right?
So If I save my fav's on a flash, (which I know will not last forever ), I should have no problems? In case (may it never happen) GOG were to go belly up, or the Russians invade etc.
Just don't want to lose "my precious" ,.. "my precious". Have lost enough in the past to upgrades :(

I'm sorry, but your post seems pretty confusing to me ... I'm sure we can sort it out though. ;)

1. Are you talking about saving yout installed games to an external drive, so that you can play them on several computers, or are you talking about making a backup of the GOG installers on an external drive?

2. Why would you want to put an OS on a flash drive?

Backups. Not put OS on flash drive.

"If I save my games to a flash drive, which would include the game set up. I would be able to download it and make it work as long as the computer has an OS right?" - Yes, you can use the setup files to install the game on a computer with the appropiate OS (currently only Windows) again.

"I put one on my external drive and it would not work straight from there because it has no OS , right?" - Right, the game has to be installed on a computer first.

"So If I save my fav's on a flash, (which I know will not last forever ), I should have no problems? Okay, then the answer is probably a simply yes. :)

You can copy your GOG installers to your flash drive. They will be quite safe there.

Whenever you want, you can connect your flah drive to a Windows PC, and start one of the installers from the flash drive. Top install your game, you don't need anything else. It doesn't matter if GOG has gone belly-up in the meantime or the Russians have invaded.
