Reminds me of Simcity 2000 with Arcologies. Will probably be getting it. Need my Simcity fix. RIP Maxis.

EDIT: Ugh! Ubisoft! I hope it has no incredibly stupid DRM.

Shawshank Redemption:
Andy Dufresne: [in letter to Red] "Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

But this is Ubisoft here so I'm inclined to agree with u. :D

Heh, one of my favourite movies of all time, if not my favourite movie of all time.
Hope... well it's Ubisoft. All we can hope for is not to be forced to re-enter our credentials every mission. Or every time you want to save your game. Or every time you want to build something.

Please enter your Ubisoft username and password to confirm you want to build a shipyard.

It'll do good not to give them ideas :)

Me too , because in theory then Anno 2070 sounds like a game that I would like to play one day.......
And even if they announce that a connection will not be necessary all the time, you cannot be sure it won't be the case
Example : From Dust (announced as without DRM requiring constant connection, false as I can read on the internet)

Hmm actually I might include my post in my CV I want to send to Ubi ;)
I'm waiting desperately for the box retail copy to arrive in our local stores. It's late due to the gross incompetence of our local distributors whom I have always dreamt of slicing up like in a Mortal Kombat fatality. Anyway, Ubisoft says that you activate once and you can play offline as you want too, but on the Steam page it says:

Solidshield Tages SAS
3 machine activation limit

So we're limited to 3 installs or does it mean on you can install on 3 computers simultaneously. Knowing Ubifail, I'm guessing we're limited to 3 installs?

I would guess it's 3 activations at once. I haven't heard of actual hard limit install limits on a game in a long time.

Based on Steam forums, it appears to be one of those hard limits you can reset with a phone call. Doesn't seem like anyone's actually used up their three installs to check, though.
There is a demo out for this game and it looks very promising. It is not like sim city, but very much a modern version of Dawn of Discovery (Anno 1404).

My backlog is huge, so I won't be getting it this year, but it definetly is on my radar and I might just buy it on a whim if I see a good deal.

If it only has half the content of Anno 1404 it will entertain you for weeks...

Ubisoft and "no incredibly stupid DRM." isnt that an oxymoron?
