langurmonkey: I'm curious about some things though.
If you coat your entire toilet with NeverWet does that mean if you piss into the toilet, right after, the piss will come flying back at you? And I wonder, if you spray your entire body with NeverWet, will you become a Batman villain who wants to make the world wet so nothing can stop him or her?
all i know is you're not likely to be wet - or greasy - ever - which is weird for the weirder weirdos! so maybe!

langurmonkey: Just spray the base coat and top coat on your monitor when your Steam library is showing and watch every game in the library turn into a GOG!

Arteveld: Or the games will just slide down into oblivion, better install a nice GOG tray underneath.;)
You heard that GOG merchandise? GOG TRAY!
sounds horribly like a slops tray from a bar to me

This seems like yet another case of "Everything gives you cancer!" ;-p

~and with that, I'm taking these old, achy bones to bed and sleep!~

Licurg: But they still can't make air in big cities breathable...
We're trying. Photocatalysis is a thing that shows a lot of potential, but so far biggest problem is that the UV that is needed for the catalysis is also deteriorating the coating. Indoor coatings that can also be activated with visible light instead of UV are currently in the testing phase, but that means at least 5 more years before it's commercially viable.

Not to mention the fact that other than cleaning the air, there is also work being done on polluting less. Hybrid cars, car engines that shut down when you wait at a red light, only to start "instantly" when you put the car in first gear, better catalysts and so on are also being developed and put into circulation.

As for NeverWet, it is an excellent application, but it requires a new coat every 3-9 months depending on UV exposure, and the coating is whitish, so it might not be suitable for every piece of clothing you have.
Well this isn't exactly new, we've been (or at least I have) seeing this for years now.
The only new thing seems to be that now you can actually buy it.
Also the toilet brush? Personally I'm more concerned with solid matter.

Goatbrush: God the future sounds horrible. Apart from the hoverboards.
Hoverboards will make the landmine obsolete, which the weapons industry will respond to by creating something far more sinister.

God the future sounds terrible. Including the hoverboards.

They already have http://defense-update.com/products/a/AHM.htm
While the product sounds nifty, I hope there is an easy way to remove it. I can only imagine the trouble this will cause with high school students and crazy ass college kids....

This will definitely become part of some sort of sick hazing ritual...

Scrubbing or using a solvent should do the trick. Unsure about the specific, but for UltraEverDry, prolonged exposure to UV light would also deteriorate the coatings.
And I now realize that NeverWet seems to be a copycat of EverDry, now to find out which one was created first.
