First, my apologies for the excessive delay. It kinda takes the fun out of it. Hopefully, no more of that.
pi4t: (OOC: We really didn't get very far, did we?)
'Let's press on, and try to reach that river before we rest. I doubt we could miss it completely, and we can use it to reorientate ourselves once we reach it.' OOC: true, though you left mid-day and traveled until just before sunset, so it was only a few hours of IC time.
Wick acquiesces to your request and pushes the cart forward towards the river. You settle for the night in a little cove near the river. Wick is pleased, and he remarks that such a location will offer you suitable cover from the bandits that might roam these parts at night.
Throughout the night you are subjected to a fierce rainstorm. The wind, however, is not so harsh and the darkness soon passes into dawn.
The rain has slowed to a mere drizzle, but the ground is soaked. Wick assures you that this will not delay your journey.
You set off down the path again, traveling about as fast as you could possibly expect.
The forest is plain and uneventful. Birds chirp intermittently and from time to time, you spot the antlers of a wild beast tucked between the trees, but there's not much else going on.
The morning passes, and it is now the afternoon. You continue your journey.
You begin to notice a strange, unpleasant smell: such as that of a piece of decaying meat. The smell seems to be emanating from the wagon's storage area just behind your seats. Wick appears to be unaware of the hideous smell, but it is beginning to irritate your nostrils more and more as the trip continues.
