Leroux: That seems to be the infamous prime example - even I have heard of that one, despite never having played Still Life. :D
Hah, yea. Worse of all, there were no instructions in-game. Bad design choice.

It's not really up there with all those sierra puzzles you guys are mentioning, but the one puzzle that I think of when frustrating puzzles come up is the rubber ducky puzzle from The Longest Journey. I think it seems worse because all the other puzzles were pretty well designed.

Edit: Oh whoops, it has been mentioned already. Never mind me then.
