Personally I think achievements/trophies are the worst thing to come to gaming in the last 30 years for reasons I wont go into because I don't want to rant or start an argument but on this I vote a big fat

From one "old fart" to another "old fart" :-) - I am not in favour of Achievements/Trophies in the term of "barging" and social showoffs, but I do like them as "markers" to myself, that I actually did something in the game that the developers had put in there for some reason, but it was NOT crucial to ending the game. But I found the easter egg - trophy kind.

And I do think achievements should be optional, also if you want to share them. There is too much social media these days - not being on Facebook - but sitting on the gog forum :-)

Freedom of choice - I guess.

SteveNye: It still leaves the huge task of finding good "achivements"-candidates in the older games - that could be done by suggestions over PM.

As long as it doesn't have annoying achievements like play x game 3 times in a different mode, or play it for 80 hours.
Or broken achievements like a bunch of steam games have, although there is a cheat program for that, but it kinda devaluate the achievements then again without you can't even get a perfect game.

Oh like Maniac Mansion and The Cave? I actually enjoyed both (maybe The Cave had too many combinations :-))

It would/should not spoil the experience you had with playing eg. KQ1 - but just "reward" you for finding the extras - IMO.

The idea was optional "added" value, not "built-in" annoyment :-D

I'm not even interested in acheivements in new games let alone old games.
