I played through Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess and I have not died once from the hands of monsters/bosses. There is no tension in these games that I wish they become more challenging for one nerf the shield in Zelda because its overpowered it needs something like Demon's Souls Stamina system. Dungeons should also be more combat heavy as it is puzzle/exploration heavy. Honestly I want the bosses to kick my ass (the only boss I think pose a challenge is Goht from Majora's Mask and that Barinade from Ocarina of Time.
I am sorry but I really want zelda to go the dark souls rout in terms of combat. (No need for RPG elements of course)
If they increase the difficulty, many users simply will not buy Zelda anymore. Imagine this: you are in a difficult dungeon; you solve some puzzles, then there are hard fights between each room you visit.
You die and you must solve puzzles again, maybe dying during the process. Funny? Not anymore, at least for me.
