A great activist and visionary died yesterday.

His legacy will live on.
So young yet so promising .... suicide. As others said that's Turing again (not for the reasons particularly, but for the result ...such a sad waste).
Or was he killed.
RIP sad when so young a person dies.
Haven't heard about him, but alway tragic when people die young. And espeically one who was fighting the good fight against internet censorship.

This implies that I am young. But I feel so old. :(

Never heard about the guy but some of the stuff I read about him sounds quite impressive. Apparently he was facing up to 35 years of prison time. Incredible that a social activist has to face that kind of sentence while true scum gets away with all kinds of stuff.

He gave the world 1 good and 1 bad thing... Reddit and RSS I'll let you decide which way round they go :P

Like the cop in NY that attempted to murder a car full of people getting three years probation, and community service?

Difference is that cop didn't try to murder anyone with lobbyists.
Very sad news. His release of public domain JSTOR materials was a great and brave thing to do. Also he was a prolific Wikipedia contributor. Seems like a genuinely selfless person.
The bloke was only 26 and had already achieved so much. He seemed the most deserving of a full life...
