Police arrest man who apparently targeted pedestrians with his van

Eleven people have been injured in a series of "hit-and-run" car incidents in Cardiff

• A 31-year-old "man has been arrested and a van was seized
•Injured adults and children were taken to the city's University Hospital of Wales

Which makes me think of Carmageddon. I don't blame the game, but when things like that happen in real life, is it morally wrong?
... is assaulting pedestrians with your vehicle morally wrong? I'm going to say, "yes." Did I misunderstand the question?

I think he was referring to morals involved in the context of playing the game ;)
Is what exactly morally wrong? Be clear and precise with your question.
Do you mean is it morally wrong to look at that incident and compare it to Carmageddon?
I actually live in Cardiff & just got home from taking my mother out, we were ten minutes away from where this all happened. I'm still numb with shock!
He's obviously asking if it's morally wrong to drive a van.
Oh gameon. Oh you.

This.
It would be morally wrong if the game caused this guy to drive over pedestrians, which I can guarantee didn't happen.

It could also be morally wrong if you believe any forms of entertainment having morally wrong things expressed in them are also morally wrong, but that's an argument I don't think you're trying to make.

Only if the van doesn't have a mural with a wizard on the side.
No, it's not morally wrong not to blame Carmageddon...
If a person recognizes Carmageddon is just a game, and that the content of the game should never in any way be realized in life, then it isn't morally wrong.

But every person is different, so if someone feels playing Carmageddon is wrong in the context of real life situations, that's perfectly okay. We all have different morals. It's ultimately up to each person to determine what he/she finds acceptable.
Everyone has a tolerance and everyone has a psychosis that is just for them.

I've known people who need to play games where they blow people's heads off. If they couldn't get it in a game, they'd likely become violent at work. They just needed a way to calm themselves and vent.

I've known people who can't muster a tiny amount of gut to play a violent game. They just can't do it.

For instance, I really like Payday's idea. But I can't play it. I just can't play a game where I'm shooting cops. I just simply can't do it. But I can play Battlefield 3 without a problem.

It's weird, but it's true. And it's personal.

So I'd say that it's pretty much up to the person playing the game whether or not it's morally wrong. The trick is to be honest, open and realistic with yourself so that you can determine if it's really or really not morally wrong.

No, it's totally okay to hit pedestrians with your vehicle, in fact my wife took her Corolla out for a quick jaunt on the sidewalk yesterday. She said both her doctor and Jesus recommended it; who needs Midol?! M'Iright?!
