Psyringe: Personally I'd still stay away from Bulldozer CPUs (..) at least until benchmarks show that the performance gap between them and the Sandy Bridge CPUs has closed considerably.
pH7: I second that - I like the idea of Bulldozer, but not the current implementation; it's going to take some time to get enough things right.
while I agree with you both, one should not forget that the OP has to do with a tight budget. If you consider the combined price of CPU and MB, the intel line in the same price range is not an I3 sandy bridge, but a Pentium G630. And, for all the disappointment it brought, I'd prefer the FX4100 over the G630
