Im not too much interested in the party scene, being I rarely went to parties. It wasn't that I was extremely anti-social, it was more that there was always a few lunatics and people that I couldn't stand.

My brother just told me he was at a party where one of the guys at it, went rogue. Some chick was talking to him and blathering on about something, and not able to stand it anymore, he punched her in the face.

Have any of you been to a party where it was just fucking crazy like above?
I've been clubbing a few times, and *every* *single* *time* there would be a breakout of at least one fight.

This.

Parties with friends you know directly (not as friends of friends or whatever) can be loads of fun though.

Everytime I leave a cinema in the city closing in to midnight you can always hear people shouting at the closest bars and if you go there at least one person will always be thrown out, it's ridiculous. This is also a small city with less than 100,000 citizens.

Fortunately I've never been to a private party where things escalated.

Punching a girl is not a sign of a wild party. It is a sign of being a complete asshole.

I hope the girl wasn't hurt to much and is pressing charges.
You guys must got to terrible places. I rarely see fights or anything like that when I go out.

Agree. From my experience, violent or excessively annoying people with poor self-control are usually spread pretty thin and despised by most. Normally I never worry about such people when going out or attending private parties.

Get out there and have fun, it can be very rewarding. Hangovers are usually the downside.

There are two types of clubbing here. The actual clubbing, you know, being civil and friendly, enjoying your time and just letting your mind and body follow the hear-able emotions (trance, house, techno, similar stuff).

And the 'clubbing' that is happening in reality, where people go to dirty shitholes and get drunk and then behave like minus infinity IQ, mentally handicapped idiots would behave... which happens every weekend.

So you could say that I've been to a party like that, but it has always been just because I was asked to keep person X company because he / she wanted to see his / her other friends or something similar.

I prefer the first kind, where we take an emotional 4 musical hour journey (during which I've hit and been hit, but it has always ended with 'sorry' or something similar (its kind of hard not to hit someone or get hit in a tightly packed 2k crowd, where everyone jumps around on uplifting trance)). :)
Thread title made me think there was some interesting RPG on the horizon :(

Huh. I've never seen these two happening mutually exclusively before, except maybe once, but that was a very tame University party.

You forgot the third kind, Where a bunch of primitives beat you to death with clubs. Yep, Clubbing doesn't always end too well.

I threw mine at the screen and nothing happened :D
Unfortunately things like that don't happen every time, so I've taken to staying in and having my friends kick me in the head for hours.
