Another classic game of which I loved every minute of it. I know there was never a PC port of this game, however I am still hoping that Square-Enix release this exceptional classic game. Any in agreement? Or disagreement. Thoughts?
Probably not gonna happen

SpirlaStairs: Probably not gonna happen
Hey, I can live in hope can I not? :P
I would love for it to happen and may actually buy it even though I have it if one thing gets changed. Give me an option to speed up the rate of the text. I don't even read fast but when I try to replay the game the words just appear so slowly in the dialogue boxes that I get bored.

But I'm not sure if GOG will ever get any console games emulated here... oh wells.
Highly doubt it, unless Square Enix sees some profit in giving some of their back catalog PC versions that didn't have one back in the day.
we will only see European and American productions released for the PC by Eidos. mark my words.

not that there was anything wrong with that.
Always thought Xenogears was grossly overappreciated game. The pacing was horrible, the platforming parts still give me nightmares, and the pretentious plot had everything and a kitchen sink. A warning example of what happens when a team get relative freedom and there's no project management and direction.

Xenogears reminds me of a first-year college student who tries too hard to appear "mature" and "deep". Kinda like the "sequels" with names like "Episode III: Also sprach Zarathustra". Really?

You know, what's funny I don't disagree with you at all but I still have warm memories of the game. I played it when I was much younger and due to looking up the game online it got me into reading stuff like philosophy and psychology. Note, if I first played the game now I would probably hate it. Actually tried to replay it kind of recently and the slow appearing text annoyed me. Tried to also play Xenosaga recently and I forgot how many darn cut-scenes are in the game. It is almost like a parody of the FMV JRPG to me.. with how much time is spent watching compared playing.

I wonder at the same time if Assasin's Creed series which I find to have a very stupid story, will perhaps make some teens interested in history or other intellectual topics when they look up the game online.

Saw some video online about a dude taking about his son became an expert on Jazz music cause of playing Fallout 3 first and then researching on youtubue about the music and then reading stuff about the that type of music.

As annoying as some of the pseudo intellectual video games maybe at times, at the same time at least a few young gamers maybe encouraged by the games to study stuff they reference in their free time.

I have the opposite view on that. It was really underappreciated. I mean for one thing I had to get a copy of it imported from the US because we did not get a UK release. The Gears themselves were brilliant to pilot, and Jumping sequences were simple enough to complete, though at times were tedious, but at the end of the day the game itself was a lot of fun. It got even more intense about halfway into the game when you discover who Fei is. And the FMV sequences were bloody brilliant.

Xenogears comes from a time when most games still didn't have that big of a plot and Xenogears had, easily, one of the largest.

The plot in the later stages can get a bit... infodumpy... but it doesn't change the fact the game is fun and you keep wanting to delve deeper.

Also, I found the platforming fine and a welcome change from most RPGs stopping you from proceeding somewhere with something at ankle height.
I think you can get Xenogears on PSN. That's at least one chance of getting it (not ideal, I know).

I think I tried Xenosaga way back when on my PS2. I played all day and never got through the prologue. I admit, I got bored and moved on to FF12 :P
I liked Xenosaga, never had a chnace to play Xenogears.
