Firstly, I am sending out good karma vibes to the person that donated their bone marrow in order that another person could live. From what I understand, the procedure to donate is extremely painful and those that overcome this to give of themselves deserve every single amount of praise we can give them ;-)
Secondly, having known a small child with this disease, I realize that even children can be utterly brave in the face of something truly awful. That goes double for her parents and the rest of her family - watching a small child suffer has got to be one of the most stressful things a parent will ever encounter. So I'm not only sending prayers to her but also to all of you that care for her ;-)
Not in but I'll make sure my donation to the American Cancer Society gets a few extra dollars this year.
Btw, I did some more research and it appears that a second donation procedure (which is a LOT less painful) is now available. If you'd like to read an article by someone who donated by this method, I've include the link below. It's convinced me to go get listed on the registry...
