100% Hungarian on mother's side. Irish, Polish, Welsh on Dad's side.

Dad's mom was the daughter of an oil man in Texas in the 20s. He gave her a platinum diamond ring for her 16th birthday. I inherited it, and it became the engagement ring I gave my (now) wife.
Nothing special here. No foreign ancestors (that I know of) nor any exotic stories about my roots.

Count me in.
I'm in!

My great grandparents came to the US- full blooded German married to full blooded Irish. They were poor alcoholic farmers that moved to Iowa and Missouri.

Interesting fact- of my entire family, I'm the only one who has chosen not to drink alcohol, ever(never had a drop) We also dont know the average life span of my family because everyone in my family has died due to alcohol related causes.
My Dad ia from Canada and his grandfather is from England. My wife is from Brazil.
I'm descended from Russian jewish stock. I understand they left because of some incident involving a fiddler who wouldn't stop playing on their rooftops.
in. My Great grandmother was born in Kinnewbucktu (francais so sorry if butchered), Ontario. Personally, Half polish, half Frehcnh-canadian.
Thanks for the giveaway!

Your question is very fascinating, but also uneasy to answer to.
Well, as far as I know, my family is completely italian, and has been here, in Toscana, for the last centuries. I can't say if my ancestors came from other countries, since we suffered many invasions during middle ages, but I prefer to think of Etruscan people or maybe Romans as my ancestors.

Anyway, don't forget that we all are from here! :-)
Isn't it a safe bet that someone in this thread is related to Genghis Khan?
My dad's side of the family is from Mexico (He's half, I'm a quarter). They lived in the New Mexico area, and just never bothered to move and so became American citizens by default. I know I have a bunch of other stuff, I just don't know their stories. I do know that on my mum's side I have some Basque and Guatemalan. And I have some Scotch-Irish too, descended from a sept of the MacKenzies of Scotland, and spelled wrong when immigrating.
4 generations back on my mother's side they immigrated to Canada from England. No idea the history on my father's side though, that information got lost somewhere along time.
Congrats on your milestone, Telika, and thanks for doing a giveaway!

As for me my closest foreign ancestor would actually be my father, who is Persian.
1820 Settlers from England.
Congrats Telika and nice giveaway.

Not in.
I'm in. Hmmm... there are a lot of stories about Balthasar, my great-great-great-greatgrandfather (maybe an extra great or three), who supposedly was a nobleman of Spanish birth who came to the Netherlands with Napoleon's armies.
Thanks for the giveaway!

My grandfather from my father's side was from Greece. Don't know much about him since he passed away before I was born.
