I've just watched the first season of 30 Rock and that show is awesome!

I finally get why Tina Fey is considered so funny in the US. I always stayed away from it, because I thought it was just another comedy show with the stereotypical funny black guy.

How suprised I was that the whole show was about just another comedy show with the stereotypical funny black guy. And I've been laughing my ass off!

(And I find Tina Fey surprisingly attractive, especially considering she is ten years older than me. But she does remind me of an ex-girlfriend of mine)

So, everybody who hasn't seen this show and likes the Daily Show or the first seasons of Family Guy, go on [moderator edit: Amazon.com] and get the show!
Totally agreed! 30 Rock truly is an amazing show, though Tracy is my left favorite part of it.

Also, Community is still better. :D
This thread is now about about awesome show recommendations!

30 Rock is a given, yeah. I'd recommend everyone to check out It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia as well - a wonderful show about awful, awful people. With Danny de Vito as a bonus. A wonderful anti-drug to family friendly sitcoms.
yeah the show is hilarious

this is my favorite scene, though it's from season 2 , so semi-spoilers I guess ( personally I don't think it matters if you watch it now, it's not like it spoils some huge story arc that stretches out over a long time)

Funny show, but lately it drags on. Maybe time to finish it.

Tragic how a better show (Community) was put on hold mid-season for 30 Rock.

I never thought Alec Baldwin could be that funny!

Communtiy is next on my list. Considering how fast I burn through 30 Rock I should be there in a couple of days ;-).

Parks and Recreations is another recommendation. It takes roughly half a season to get of the ground but then it's brilliant.

Don't miss Pemptus' recommendation, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is a brilliant show.

Because the main characters are horrible human beings, you enjoy when they constantly fail at everyday life. That makes it fresh, because the "Gang" has no redeeming qualities.
Wow... I COMPLETELY agree with all of the above. That doesn't happen often.

Community, Parks & Rec, It's Always Sunny are all hilarious shows (I'd add Curb Your Enthusiasm too). I can't believe the degrading stuff they make De Vito do in It's Always Sunny.

I'll try to think of some we probably won't see here...

Trailer Park Boys - Comedy. Like cops but in reverse, the cameras follow the criminals this time. This is an extremely quotable show from Canada. The middle seasons are where the show really hit its stride. There is also a non-canon movie (Trailer Park Boys - The Movie, not to be confused with Countdown to Liquor Day, which picks up after the final episode) made to get people into the show.

3rd Rock From The Sun - Comedy. I feel like many people have forgotten this one for some reason (and I never see reruns of it anywhere, when you can't flip through three channels without bumping into Seinfeld).Show about a family of aliens disguising themselves as humans while on an expedition to Earth (which they consider insignificant).

Arrested Development - Comedy. Alright, so someone else probably would have mentioned this, but I just can't contain myself since it's the best show to ever have been cancelled, and my favorite comedy. It's basically about a dysfunctional, super-rich family's aftermath after losing their fortunes. It's brilliant in every way.

The Tick (Animated and Live-Action) - Comedy. An irreverant spoof of comic book tropes, both "Tick" shows are absolutely brilliant, and the live-action series only sets you back nine episodes.

1000x this. My favourite show ever.

Also... Futurama - nerdy humour just doesn't come better than this. One of the best things I love about the show is how well it manages to tug at your heartstrings in a few episodes despite being so funny at the same time.

I'm glad Community was brought up so early in the thread. =D

I'm currently watching it, just started the third series and I can see the midseason hiatus looming. I don't care how good 30 Rock may be, I wants my Community!

Pushing Daisies is also great in a very quirky/romantic kind of way.
Everyone should watch Party Down. It was hilarious but sadly cancelled after only two seasons :(

I started watching it last night on streaming netflix, and I ended up watching 7 straight episodes. I only ignored it for so long because I didn't really know anything about it. Once I looked at the cast I decided I had to watch it. Ken Marino was hilarious in The State

anyhoo this scene cracked me up:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rChLGkUcPw

also this. the way Jane Lynch said "looking is free but touching will cost ya" especially cracked me up:
