Ok, well at least some blocks are diggable then. From watching the Yogscast i got the impression you couldn't although maybe that was because they didn't know what they were doing. If it still is in alpha, perhaps they might fix the things you mentioned so you could actually store and craft, the game may be worth playing then.

Minecraft is the most overrated pile of shit ever released, imho, and I really don't like blocky games so.....

Heavy Weapons will destroy various parts of the environment (I believe that's related to the type and strength) - but apparently only those blocks appear as dropped items you can reuse.

I think it looks interesting. I wish they would't have made it look so much like Minecraft though. I think it would be a lot better if they would have gone with more of a Quake look, or even just used character sprites and made it look like Doom.

Spent a few hours on it, and I have to say, I'm really liking it. Perhaps the updated skins helped, and maybe it's also optimism on my part that I can trust the developer to continuously support the game.

Yeah it is still very rough around the edges, but I've got a good feeling about this game.

Received a update today.

Looks a little bit better and implemented cites - which actually are a bit impressive. Also moved all interaction to 'E', so there is no longer need to use 'T' to talk to traders, 'Q' to talk to leaders and so on (which was annoying). Getting more streamlined.

Someone remind me of this when I have real internet and my gaming PC back in the summer.

I can't wait for the game to release more content, and to be less of a royal rumble. I can really see the potential in this one - make everything less chaotic, add in a ton more of content, enhance the pace and feel of the combat, and we have a contender for indie GOTY.

It's unfortunate that they decided to compare themselves to Minecraft, because at first glance it does look like a cheap Minecraft mod. But it's really not that similar at all. The closest thing I've found is the construction tool, and I just threw it away. There's really no need to build your own base.

Well, I just tried 3059, to see the beginning of the series, and because a sci-fi rogue-like sounded fun.

...Boy does that suck!

I'm sure it's playable, provided you know how the game works, because the game itself sure doesn't tell you.

I bought some equipment and got a quest from the quest bot. It told me to go bring back something which had been stolen. It was located about 4 screens away from the starting town. I set out, but on the very first screen I entered, two people started chasing me for no reason I could fathom. Then they killed me. I then tried to go back for my corpse, only to be killed 7 more times before I managed to grab my gear and run away.

If that's the style of game he makes, I'll pass on the new one.

I bought the IndieGala bundle (because I could!) and just tried it for a while. It's actually quite a lot of fun. The loot's kind of like Borderlands, the AI/graphics are like Minecraft, and the actual gameplay feels vaguely like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but is really overall quite unique.

And I'm trying to build my own fortress now. Again, mostly because I can! :D

Update: Phr00t's considering throwing away the 2D weapon sprites and replacing them with 3D models instead. I say "considering", because nothing's set in stone yet. His main issue is that he has his hands tied up with coding, and he needs a good modeler, so if anyone has an interest in this game and wants to help out with modeling, why not give it a shot!
