Talking about correct links.. it's

and not
http://www.allaspectwarefare.com/
Just a small typo.
I'll post my first impression later.
*edit*
Well, watched only two of the three trailers. The first with nightvision and stuff is just stupid.. nothing happens, you don't see anything and so..
The other shows some nice looking aircraft, who do not even mysteriously hover all the time..but they fly around the plain desert all the time, and only the last 10 seconds show some hills/mountains..could have been done better, and, while a desert usually looks kinda boring, this was just terrible..they talked about using satellite images and stuff..then they should know that even from a great height, there is more detail then that. I hope thats because they aren't finished with the polish, otherwise they should rethink about making the areas that big.
Also i would think that mankind invents some better cockpit then that.. it usually takes away half the screen, so you can't see nothing, and instead you get lots of colourful stuff which doesn't tell you anything. And even if it displays correct information, i don't think it will work right. There is a reason most flight/space sims use a different HUD.
And most weapons seem to take away 1/4 of the screen, too. Especially the one they show most of the time. I usually do not hide weapons, even if i can, as its part of the game, they look nice, and it helps aiming. But if the enemy can hide behind my weapon..well.
Another issue is the buildings. They look nice, but can you use them? I mean, really. Not just walk in on the lower level, hit some button to get ammo or so, but can you go upstairs and snipe there? Are some objectives inside, like you have to blow up a door to gain access to the bunker where they hide stuff?
Many games that are somewhat similiar, like, the Source Mod Empires, do not use "real" buildings, as like you could do urban warfare/guerrilla with them. They could do a small box with a button on it, would have the same effect basically.
And then it feels empty, as you have all that stuff, and its just standing around and you can do nothing with it.
Also the target group says age 13+..well, i'm not one who says "everyone below age X is stupid, and everyone above is cool", but its more likely that someone older then age X is more mature. A lot of people complain about kids in your usual MMO, even in WoW, how can this work there?
A good thing is the DRM they aim for. One-time online activation, but nothing installed, no CD/DVD in drive required, no limit of installations or other stuff. Wouldn't wonder if they change that and say "oh, sorry, forgot to tell you", thats how companies do it all the time. Let's hope they keep it that way
*another edit*
So, watched the final trailer, with aerial combat and stuff. This time, it looks better, they actually have height differences and so. Desert is kinda ok, though it's boring with such a big area, and in wonder: Why a desert with that many water? (Which doesn't look like it's moving..its just there..even though it looks like a river. Not one wave, no tide/surge..just a plain blue surface.
And you can clearly see the generic surface when they switch to grass/snow (i think it is snow..). Even worse when walking around. If it doesn't get better, they shouldn't advertise that landspace that much..
Also, it looks like you still get a text overlay when flying, which shows speed and stuff..so why the huge cockpit? They should change it so that it looks like they (the soldiers you are playing) where using a HUD, or at least use it and give a **** about if it looks realistic, better then that..
Also i wonder if you can actually arrive at the battle in time when not using vehicles or even aircraft.. it takes long enough in games like UT 3 at the bigger maps, and they are small compared to what they aim for. And then only 32 players..whats the point of the map size then? Well, we'll see.
Besides that, it looks quite good.
*ANOTHER edit later*

I know Derek Smart, that smart-mouthed jackass who sued publishers because of his games?
Sign me up.
i did see a demo of this game on youtube and was quite impressed
Stop! You must not speak the name!
Derek Smart, Derek Smart, Derek Smart!!
Yeah, I bought the beta of one of his recent games (Battlecruiser Millenium Gold). I really don't feel like doing another beta for him.
If this ends up being good, I'll grab it. If it sucks, he'll sell it for a few years, then release it for free anyway. Until then, other people can put up with his crap.
The interface still looks rather complicated, as usual of a Der-er, 3000AD title. However, I always liked the scope that they try to aim for. (Now if they'd just work on the interface...)
Also, that aircraft cockpit is indeed poorly designed. You'd think that a vehicle of the future would have something better than that-something that doesn't block half your view, something that's not so twentieth-century (as you'd expect of a flight sim that simulates existing aircraft realistically, obstructing cockpit and all). If anything, they could at least make the MFDs and whatnot take up the bottom fourth of the screen, which would be much better than the bottom HALF it takes up now.
TrackIR support would help a lot in that regard, though. Once you get one and use it in a supported game, there's no going back-the situational awareness increase is that tremendous.

If its like Echo Squad, you can change the viewpoint a bit, and also get rid of the actual cockpit. :)
