CarrionCrow: Yeah, in 2nd edition world, that's how it goes. Druids get stuck trying to block damage with leather and spells, mages make due with jack besides magical items and spells, and priests get full fighter armor AND more healing than anyone else AND more strength augments AND more all-around protective spells than anyone else AND they can smash the crap out of people. (Never could figure out what lunatic came up with the "well, hitting someone with a hammer or mace isn't TECHNICALLY making them bleed so that's fine, but no swords or daggers" idea.)

hummer010: I'm not sure who thought of it, but it sure is fun to play!
They certainly make good leaders. Used one for my first Baldur's Gate run, then shifted that into playing an evil storm priest in Baldur's Gate 2.
Too bad I've never been a great shot with the lightning bolt spell, otherwise that would've made them even more powerful.

Ragnarblackmane: I actually can help answer that question!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turpin_%28archbishop_of_Reims%29

Interestingly enough, the weapons restrictions on Clerics in D&D were modelled after him. They were inspired by "Gary's reading the old stories about Archbishop Turpin, who wielded a mace because he didn't want to shed blood ("who lives by the sword dies by the sword")"."[2]
Okay, that is indeed very interesting, thank you for sharing it. =)
The archbishop must've been out of his gourd, though. If you hit something full of blood with a giant piece of metal as hard as you can, some blood's going to come out. It's not like you're going to pull your hits so the target just ends up with the world's most horrific string of hickey-like bruises.

Wow! Thanks for that, that was pretty intersecting to read. I've played a ton of different characters in BG over the years, and the first one I ever finished the game with, and still my favorite class to play, is the cleric.

Heh that guy must have been nuts. A bit of bending the rule, eh?
Just a little bit :)
Speaking of Clerics are there any good recent RPGs (not called BG/IWD Enhanced Editions) which have clerics and/or bards in them?

Can't think of any others offhand that have cleric and bard-type classes, aside from the upcoming Pillars of Eternity. Outside of D&D, it seems like most RPG makers either go with the usual fighter/mage/thief choices, something freeform like Skyrim, or their own setup based on the setting.

Was wondering as those two classes are the two i started off with my explorations (and had most fun with) into RPG's many years ago (ie Bards tale & goldbox SSI series games)

CarrionCrow: The Vanishing of Ethan Carter - $11.99 (normal price - $19.99 - 40% off)
The game is regionally priced.
*yawns, peeks in*

We just woke up over here. I'm trying to keep my arm relaxed ( had posted a follow-up post after the Physiotherapist appointment but the thread was going by quite fast at the time so it ended up being last on one of the threads as it was happening... was in too much pain to post any more ).

Basically, repetitive motions at work got my arm pretty tense. Weight training at the Physio got the arm to "completely relax" and now can't pick up anything much heavier than a plastic cat food dish without help. Apparently I need to keep doing some stretches and have some walks and then just let the arm relax until Monday when I go back to work.

Talked with my boss and she agreed that I needed something else there to switch back and forth to so I'm not always doing the one thing ( ironing for a few hours a day, two times a week ).

Might end up sleeping more today...but right now having some hot chocolate and trying to decide on breakfast.

Nothing in the sales has caught our attention yet. Waiting for the next bundles to appear.

Okay, got it. =)
Going to head off and get some sleep now, I think. Can't keep myself awake.
If you feel like continuing to run backup, that'd be both great as well as hugely appreciated.
If you don't or can't, if anyone could cover the gap while I rest, that would be great.
Goodnight, everyone.

Yesterday I finished chapter 1 of Blackwell Bundle. I can't wait to ply the second one...
I bought Tropico 3, it has good reviews, and I'm curious to play the bad guy for a change...
Have a great weekend everybody !!! :-***

Hello LaPtiteBete. You can thank IAmSinistar for this Frankenstein Monster's head. :P
You'll also notice that I'm not its only bearer.

Indeed. We are Legion, after all.
Good morning everyone.... Oh, I see you have all finally gone crazy and merged yourselves together. First it was Vikings, now it is Legion. Oh dear, this sale has done a lot of damage. :-)

How is everyone today, and how is Legion? I guess I only have to ask once, as you are now one and the same, everyone one of you part of the greater whole.
